Shopping the clearance sections is one of favorite thing to do.  It’s not only fun, but it is a way I can still decorate my home and save money.  You never know what you will find.  Most of my clearance items I strip down and makeover, I just love finding something that I can give my own spin to.

For this challenge I went all over looking, I didn’t want to buy something to just buy it.  The last store I went into was Hobby Lobby.  When I went over to the clearance area I saw a couple frames on the floor, but that round mirror caught my eye.

Here is the price I paid for the mirror.  Even though the mirror is cracked the frame itself is worth the price, so I picked it up and paid for it.

Along with the mirror I picked up a flower wall décor and a decorative knob.  Both were 50% off.

When I remove the back I hope I can remove the mirror without damaging the back board.  Won’t know until I remove the back, right?

I am in luck, it came right off of the back panel. 🙂

Now that I can use the back panel  I am going to do a design with hot glue, the flower and the knob.  Now…stay with me until the end.  It’s going to take some imagination, I have a plan in mind. 🙂

Drawing a line around the frame will give me a template.  I don’t want my design to go near the frame.

Finding the center I drew around the flower art.

I free-hand a larger flower.

I applied a thick amount of hot glue to the outer flower lines.  I went over the line a couple times.

Once the glue harden and cooled I removed all the glue webs.

I drilled a hole in the center.

I painted the whole thing with Edgecomb Grey by Benjamin Moore.  It’s the color of our bedroom furniture.

I put the knob through the flower and attached it to the back panel.

Attached the frame to the panel.

It looks real nice on the wall in our Master bedroom.

I am loving this look.  What do you think?  Would you have passed the mirror up?
