I am joining 5 other Top Shelf Clearance bloggers who will be sharing what we find on clearance shelves and how we style them in our homes. I will have all of my friend’s blog link at the bottom of my page.
I am so excited to share with you what I found when shopping at Kirkland’s. They were full of really great clearance items this shopping visit I had a hard time picking just one item. I kept the allowed amount and pick the right item for me. Look at all the great stuff they had on their shelves!

I decided to purchase the large narrow window picture frame. It was a great buy plus I needed something narrow for my dining room wall. The price was right even before the 25% was taken off of the green sticker price. Let me get this baby bought and I will show you what I do to make it fit my home décor.
I love the frame how it looks but in my home I just don’t have any other galvanized decor in our dining room to pull this off hanging on my wall. I know I should buy things that work without “FIXING” them for $14.99 I don’t see the harm in changing the look, do you?
The reason it was on the clearance shelf it’s missing the front glass panel.
I took the frame apart. I am removing the sample photos from the glass. Why in the world do they use adhesive that is so hard to remove? I pulled off the paper and used baby oil to removed the adhesive. Next time you have a sticker and it’s hard to come off, use baby oil it works like a charm.
I removed the wooden frame from the metal frame.
I am painting the metal frame Oil Rubbed Bronze.
While that is drying I took my Minwax walnut gel stain and added some color to the wooden frame. When it was all stained I applied two coats of the minwax finishing wax.
I put the frame back together and added it to my dining room wall.
This works so much better in my dining room. The wall was missing something and the clearance frame gave it all it needed. Never pass up something you like because of the color….paint gives everything a new fresh look.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
