Welcome to my Fall Season 2023, kicking it off in the kitchen.  Decorating our kitchen table first.  I am joining the girls on a Dollar Tree Fall craft today.  I will have the girl’s video links at the bottom of my page.  You can watch my Dollar Tree candleholder on any of my social media.  My Facebook page or my YouTube channel.

Here are the three Dollar Tree items you will need to make a cute pumpkin candleholder.

Other supplies you will need:

  • hot glue or other adhesive
  • paint, color of your choice
  • stain color of your choice
  • chip brush and paint brush
  • material of your choice

Taking the pumpkin, remove the stem and dig out a larger hole at the top of the pumpkin.

Take a piece of material, large enough to tuck the material in the hole you just created.

Start at one corner of the material and bring it up and tuck into the hole.  Pleat the material as you tuck all the edges into the hole of the material.

Paint the glass plate and candleholder entirely.  I am using Spice Vinegar by Valspar.

I gave it two coats, front and back.

After the paint dried, using a chip brush paint on the stain making sweeping strokes until you have grain lines.

I kept on sweeping the chip brush until the stain made lines, like wood grain.

When both pieces are dried completely, turn the candle plate over, apply the glue on the top of the pumpkin and center it to the bottom of the plate.

Add glue to the center of the pumpkin and apply the bottom of the candleholder to the pumpkin.

Let the glue dry for an hour, turn the candle holder over and there you have a cute Fall candleholder or a riser.

You don’t have to use material to your pumpkin, I think next time I would paint the pumpkin with the same color as the other two pieces.  Either way, this is an easy craft to make and a great piece to decorate in any home style.

I will be styling mine on our kitchen table.  Make sure you keep coming back as I continue to decorate our home for Fall!
