CHRISTMAS APARTMENT DOORWAY

With the holiday season upon us, what better way to spread the Christmas cheer while visiting my mom than by decking the halls of her front apartment door! It’s the perfect opportunity to add a touch of holiday magic with her favorite theme, Christmas cardinal birds.

Today, Tammy and Teresa will be joining me as we share how we decorate front porches.  I will have both of their links at the bottom of my page.

What all I need to decorate her doorway; she has a topiary tree, a pail where the facility drops notifications and lastly, her front door.

Let’s start with the topiary tree.

The tree is very fragile, I had to decorate it very carefully.  I started with a white furry ribbon, cutting it and tucking it around the edges.  I wanted the look of trapped snow.

Next, I took ribbon cutting it 6 inches, fish tailing the ends and creating a bow tie ribbon attaching it to the tree.

Adding berry clusters to the tree.

To the very top of the tree, I placed a bow.

I also added a large red cardinal to the top and smaller cardinals around the tree.

I also added pinecones and mini red ornaments.

I placed my DIY snowman door hanger on mom’s front door.  I did place a cardinal to his hat since I made it.

To her pail I made a loop bow and placed it on the handle of the pail.

I think we turned my mom’s front doorway into a cheerful Christmas welcoming.  What do you think?

I will have a video of me decorating my mom’s door later tonight on my social media.

  1. Awwww….what a lucky mom to have you do that for her! That topiary is fantastic! And I love the little personal touches you added. Very sweet, all of it.
