Although the leaves are not yet turning vibrant shades of red and gold, and the air isn’t crisp and cool, here at our house, it’s time to embrace the beauty of fall!

 

Welcome to the first room in our Decorate with Us | Fall season 2024!  Tammy Patina and Paint and I will be sharing how we decorate our front entryways today.  I will have Tammy’s entryway link down at the bottom of my page.

Isn’t it fitting to start with our entryways?  Our entryway is the first thing our guests see when they enter our home, let’s make it warm and inviting by adding Fall to it! In this blog post, I’m sharing tips on how you style a fall entryway table.

How to create a warm and cozy Fall entryway.

Whether you’re a seasoned decorator or just getting started, these tips will help you transform your entryway into a charming, seasonal haven.

Stick to a color scheme:

I wear this tip out, don’t I?  Every space you decorate should start with a cohesive color palette.

For my fall entryway table, I used deep oranges, rustic orange, warm browns, and a textured pumpkin.  The color palette I styled will instantly give you a sense of warmth and comfort.

Find your anchor piece:

Before you start adding decorations, the first piece should be an anchor piece, use something with a theme, this will help guide you with the other pieces you place on the table.

My anchor piece was a revamp of an old canvas frame I had stored up in the attic.  I painted the canvas and then freehanded the bundle of wheat tracing it out with antique white paint.  It gives the table the fall vibe it much needed.

Keep it balanced:

Keeping your vignette balanced is one of the important rules of decorating.

As we decorate, we should think about the visual weight of each piece as we place on our tables! The goal is imagining our table as a teeter totter, we want to keep the table level by adding the same visual weight to each side.

When I placed the frame to the table, I offset it with the mirror.  This allowed me to add my vase with beautiful fall leaves to the other side, both have visual weight which keeps the setting balanced.

Believe it or not, those leaves were spray painted to create a deeper autumn leaf color.  I love them!

Keep it tidy:

While it’s tempting to go all out with fall decorations, be mindful not to overcrowd your entryway table, as it can quickly look cluttered.

My table is on the small side, so I kept it very simple with my accent pieces.  I placed a candleholder for lighting and a texture pumpkin for a filler.  Not often do I think “less is more” but in this case I did!

The last tip would be carrying the colors all the way down the table.

Styling a fall entryway table for a cozy appearance is all about embracing the beauty of the season while making your guests feel welcomed and comfortable. By choosing the right color palette, the right anchor piece, visually balanced, and keeping it tidy, you can create an entryway that captures the feeling of fall.
