This room has been on my to-do list for a long time. I kept putting it off because it’s a room we don’t use often plus I didn’t know what I wanted to do. So happy I started this project and am loving how it is coming together.
I finally decided to decorate my home the way I want it to be and not the “trend” that’s popular at the moment. Let’s face it, we have to live in our home after the photos are taking, right? So, this brings a question I hear all the time, “What style do you like?” If you take a look through our home you will see I have a variety of styles. My style is…..if I like it I decorate with it. 🙂
Let’s get back to the topic of my blog today, the dining room. I thought I would share what I have purchased to style in our dining room refresh.

Royal Tradition Victoria Drapes – I went with their color yellow. It is a butter color and will blend nicely with the dining room chair’s pattern. Plus with the sun blaring in the large window this will help block some of the rays that can cause fading.
Wellmet 8 Light Wagon Wheel Light Fixture – I am in love with this look. The rustic feel but yet it can give a room a modern look.
White Distressed Panel Wall Mirrors – I purchased two of the Kirkland’s mirror to place on each side of the china cabinet. It gives the same rustic flare as the light fixture. Using the light wood on the mirror will tone down the dark wood of the china cabinet.
Marigold Vase with Rope Handle – I love this Kirkland’s piece, it will give a pop of color against all the wood in the room. The rope handle gives it a little touch of rustic flare.
Black Iron Tapered Candlestick – Giving some drama to the room would be this cute black iron candlestick I found in Kirkland’s. I should of grabbed another one.
Green Eucalyptus Galvanized Centerpiece – When I saw this online at Kirkland’s I pictured it in the center of our dining room table…..with some revamping. Can’t wait to show you what I did with it. 🙂 You know I love Lamb’s ear, right?
I can’t wait to put it all together and share it with you. I hope you get inspired to style your home with your style no matter how many styles you have.

Stay strong and God bless! ♥
Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Love it all Terrie. I’m like you, I say what my style is but in all honesty if I love it I decorate with it.
The rule for me is I have to love it.
Looking forward to seeing come together.
Cindy
That’s what I am doing too, if I don’t love it I won’t buy it. ha! I have too many things I like up in the attic or in the closet.
Looking forward to seeing how you will use these beautiful elements to update your dining room. Love the Kirkland’s centerpiece. I bet you could recreate that very arrangement. If I were building or buying a new home, I would like the dining room to have a fireplace and bookcases to make it a library as well as for dining. Just a dream… xoxo
Donna, I would love to have a fireplace in many rooms of our home, I just love fireplaces.
