Hello friends! How are you this beautiful Friday morning? Hope you had a great week and a great start to November! Not much on my to do list this weekend. I could be doing a lot, but for some reason I just don’t want to do work around the house. Have you ever not been in the mood to do housework and want to give yourself a day off?
Welcome back to the tour of our home. If you are new to my blog you can go HERE to start the tour from the beginning. Today I would like to share with you our dining room. It isn’t a very large room, but it still holds all of our furniture. Having the large table allows us to host our family and friends for dinner without any trouble.
Our dining room furniture is by Thurmont. We found our set on Ebay several years ago. We were very skeptical on purchasing a large piece of furniture online, but we took the plunge and ordered it. We are very pleased with the furniture.
Since you read all about my table and china hutch on my previous blogs I won’t go into the details. If you missed those post you can go HERE for the table and HERE for the china cabinet. I love the detail and style and how sturdy they are. We’ve received a lot of compliments on the set.
Now let’s get started. This is the view standing in the foyer looking into our dining room. I love the large window, it brings in a lot of natural light. I designed the curtains to enhance the middle crescent. I placed a stationary panel to each side of the window on a decorative drapery rod. I didn’t want to hide the window with drapes or heavy curtains.
The china cabinet is on the back wall with two wall sconces I purchased from Kirklands. If you like these, they are on clearance now. I placed the two armed chairs in each corner.
Another piece of furniture I have in the room is a wine tower cabinet. I love the iron work on each side of the hutch and the bottom storage cabinet to hold our somewhat wine collection. We are not wine drinkers but like to have some on hand when we have guests over. I gifted this to myself one Christmas. Ha!
We have texture ceilings throughout the home. In the main rooms we have a texture sunburst design in the center of the room.
I loved the light fixture when we built our home, but now I would like one that would fit my design style. I will add that to my want list.
That brings us to the end of our dining room tour.
If you have been following me on facebook you noticed that I have been posting tablescapes all week. I wanted to share with you my Thanksgiving tablescape.
How I came to this tablescape theme was 4 blue glass pumpkins that I found at TjMaxx and fell in love with them. I knew I had items on hand to make a pretty table. The middle centerpiece is a topiary arrangement. Not too fond of how that looks. Isn’t it funny how you see things differently in photos?
Here is my tablescape.
I enjoyed sharing my dining room and tablescape with you. As always thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my blog today and please feel free to leave me any questions or comments you might have I love hearing from you.

This will be my very first Christmas season to blog. Beware now! I do go a little overboard with my decorations. I love the lights, sparkles and yes, even the glitter!

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
