Hello Friends! Today’s post is how I took a plastic Dollar Tree wine glass and turned it into a cloche. I was in The Dollar Tree and saw wine glass on clearance for .50 each. The way they were in the package gave me the idea to turn it into a cloche. I have had these little cupcake pedestals for a couple years and would love to have cloches to go with them. Now I do!
I took the glass out of the package and set the bottom portion to the side. You could cut the pedestal part off and use the bottom lip of the glass for the bottom of the cloche.
But for now I will put the bottom part to the side.
For the top I took a piece of twine and a heart gem to make the top handle. I am using hearts because they will be part of my Valentine’s tablescape.
I dabbed a little hot glue to the neck of the top and wrapped the twine around it. I cut about 12 inches of twine and probably only used 11 inches.
Now adding a little hot glue to the heart jewel and placing it on top of the neck. Hold until it cools.
Here is my DIY.
The first one is using the stem of the wine glass and using the bottom lip and the second is using my cup cake plate pedestals.
Honestly, they look like glass. Not bad for $2.00, the hearts and twine I had on hand. The cupcake pedestals I got maybe 2 years ago at TjMaxx for $7.99 set of 4. The wine glass fits perfectly on the pedestal.
What do you think? Leave me a comment!
Thanks for stopping by while I make my cloche. I hope this gives you some inspiration to look outside of the box and be creative!
Stay Strong and Stay Blessed!

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
This is such a clever idea, & the end result turned out so cute! I’m going to attempt to make two versions of this, the same heart set featured here, & a couple w/ star toppers that I can use for Christmas & the Fourth of July. Thank you so much for the inspiration! I’m new to your blog, & I’m having so much fun perusing through all of your Dollar Tree crafts — it’s one of my favorite stores to shop for crafty items & ideas, & your creativity is making me itch to make another trip, haha!
Miranda I am thrilled you found my blog. The cloches are so cute, I have used them for Christmas with a little revamping. For the cost they are a great little touch on a place setting. Instead of the heart I used a clear round marble. To check out my video here. https://www.facebook.com/161988191107211/videos/822845034830575
Thank you for following me. I hope I inspire you more.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a cloche. What do you do with them?
I am sure you have seen them. Come by here on Thursday and I will show you how I used mine!
