LIVING ROOM TOUR

Hello everyone!

Isn’t it safe to say we all think about redecorating our home after we put away our Christmas decorations?  When we pack away all of the Christmas decor our home feels a little stale.  I always welcome the opportunity to change things up.

Now that my house is organized and cleaned I have the urge to redecorate.  I wanted to change up my fireplace mantel decor because I loved how the shutters looked up on our mantel during Christmas.  If you have seen my Christmas mantel post you would know the shutters I am talking about.  If you haven’t, you can go HERE to see my Christmas mantel.  If you haven’t seen my mantel pre-Christmas you can see it HERE.

I am so happy on how this all came together!

The Fireplace Mantel

I started searching Pinterest for some inspiration.  I knew I wanted to use the shutters over the fireplace but didn’t know what I wanted in the center.  The space between the ceiling and the mantel is not a typical size.  It is rather small.  I found the perfect item one day in Hobby Lobby and it was on clearance.  That started the wheels-a-turning.  Once I found that I got on a roll.

Hobby Lobby had their wood decor 50% off.  So I picked up the two sconces and the corbel.  The lamb’s tongue or ear (I have heard it both ways) I also bought that at Hobby Lobby when the floral was 50% off.

I grabbed my blessed sign from the kitchen.

I finished with the hearth to complete the fireplace’s new look.  On one side I placed my two floor lanterns.

On the other side I placed my wire basket with a fur blanket, a blush color pillow and Our Nest sign.

I truly am in love with the new fireplace decor.  What do you think?  Leave me a comment below.

The Living Room

In the corner I placed my DIY blanket ladder.  If you have not been over to see how I made that, go check out that post HERE.  I folded an off-white throw neatly on the second step and draped a pink pom-pom throw on the first step.

The blanket ladder was such a great DIY.  I have used it a couple different places so far.

The Back Wall

I changed out the setting on the top of our cabinet.  I added my wire tray and one of the vases  (tray was on my coffee table and the vase on the mantle prior to Christmas), two of the candle sticks and the tobacco basket that I had on my fireplace during Christmas.  Added a greenery wreath and two books tied with twine.

How cute is this?

Next to my chest I placed my great grandmother’s arm chair.  I added my DIY chunky throw and two pillows.  My little thrift store foot stool with a pottery vase sitting on it.

Next to the chair I placed an iron candle stand and sat a little bird cage that I tucked a candle and greenery inside.

MY chest decor really didn’t change much.  I place a large cathedral mirror above it on the wall, I purchased at Kirkland’s.  Sat two lamps on each side of the mirror.  I have my salt lamp to one side of the mirror and a vase on the other.  I painted two faux books and sat a faux plant on top of them.  I have two photo frames with my precious babies displayed.

The corner I have my planter, three floor canisters and a barrel with hydrangeas.  I placed my faux fur rug in front.

On my coffee table I kept the wooden tray that I found over the Christmas season.  I place inside the tray, a book without it’s jacket and I tied a piece of twine around it, a small greenery arrangement sitting on top of the book, a copper orb and my flower arrangement of peonies.

Here is a close up of the decor on the coffee table.

I really had fun with this room.  I wanted to add a little more pink to the room.  What do you think?  Do you like the added pink to the room?  Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think.

Few more photos of my changes.

Next Thursday will be our Blog Hop…..finally!  I will once again be changing up the fireplace.  I sure hope you come back to see how I displayed all of my DIY crafts.
