Hey there! I am finally getting around in taking my Christmas presents out of their boxes. I have some special kiddos. They knew I would love having a Cricut for my very own. Now where to put it and how to store all the tools! Before I get to organizing my tools I need to mention this is our monthly Pinterest Challenge, the challenge is hosted by Erlene with My Pinterventures. Pinterest is a great place for all of us to go and check out home décor, recipes, DIYs, crafts and so much more. Today I am in a group of talented bloggers sharing our version of some organization inspiration. There’s only one rule, take a pin we find on Pinterest and recreate it with our own spin. I found a couple of pins on how to store your Cricut tools on Pinterest, the ones I like are the framed display holders. Here are some of the inspirations I like. First photo is from Crafting in the Rain and the second is from Jennifer Maker.
I love the look of the peg board but wanted to organize mine with things I already have here at home. Here is what I am using for my Cricut display.
- 11 x 14 frame
- 11 x 14 board
- one mini dowel rod
- scrapbook paper
- E6000
- paint
- drill
A 11 x 14 frame works perfect for my tools. I placed them on the cut board to figure out how I want them to be. Made a dot where I want my dowel rod to be.
I drilled 7 holes into my board where I made the dots. I will cut dowel rods and glue the pegs in the drilled hole with E6000.
I took one dowel rod and cut it 1 ¼ inches 7 times. I used my Dollar Tree hand saw to cut the 7 pieces off.
Painted the frame and pegs Waverly Chalk paint, Ocean.
Let the frame dry. Adding the scrapbook paper to the front of the board. I used wallpaper border adhesive. Applied it to the back of the paper with a paint sponge.
I used a dowel rod to poke through the paper.
Sanded and painted the pegs the same color as the frame.
Once the pegs dried I applied E6000 into the drilled holes and placed a peg into the hole.
To add the board to the frame I applied E6000 to the inner frame and placed the board into the frame. I painted the back of the board Ocean as well.
I let that set for a couple hours.
Placed my tools where I wanted them. So cute!
I am ready to start working with it all.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
This is a great way to organize and display cricut tools! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Emily. I just received a cricut for Christmas and needed to figure out what I can do with all the tools. I love how it looks.
This kind of reminds me of peg board storage and I love it. The Cricut tools look so cute framed. Makes me want to create a mini framed storage for my Silhouette tools.
I can’t wait to get mine set up and start using it. I just haven’t had time to sit down and learn how to use my Cricut yet. ha! Always running 90 to nothing these days.
Very clever! And it looks great, too! I’ll pass thebidea on to my daughter who is the Cricut person in the family.
I just got my Cricut for Christmas, I am sure as I use it I will have more tools. Might have to use a larger frame. ha! I hope it works for your daughter. Thanks for stopping by.
What a great idea! A Cricut is on my wish list, so I will keep this in mind when I finally have one!
Cherrly I haven’t tried it out yet. Too busy with other projects. I hope to use it a lot. It is a great way to display your tools and it looks so cute. Thanks for stopping by.
This looks great and it will be so easy to grab your tools and use them. Enjoy the Cricut, I love mine.
I have to learn how to use it…I am so ready to get started using it. I will love it for sure. Thanks Jenny.
What an awesome idea. I just showed it to the Hubs. He is the Cricut master and his tools are everywhere! I think we will be making one of these, thanks for sharing 🙂
I am sure if he has been using the Cricut a lot he will need a lot bigger board, but the concept is the same. Hope this gave him some inspiration.
This is a great idea for keeping the tools organized and sorted. Enjoy your new toy! I love my Cricut.
Thanks Beverly. I need to sit down long enough to open the pamphlet and read how it all works. I will have a great time using it for sure.
Your tool organizer looks really nifty! Great job!
That handy idea could be used for any type of tool. I pinned it. 😀
That is so pretty! I have all my cricut tools shoved into a little jar on my desk but this looks so much more organized. Pinned.
Such a fun way to organize! I need to get on the Cricut bandwagon. 🙂
Terrie,
Great idea and your wheels are spinning I’m sure of the uses you have for your new toy. Enjoy creating!
Cindy
Thank you Cindy. I have to learn about it first before turning it on. ha! I am so ready to use it though. Thanks for stopping by!
This is wonderful a idea .. I got a Cricut for Christmas and wondering where to store the tools .. Absolutely love what you’ve done!!
Teresa!
You will have to share what you will be working on with your Cricut. Maybe we can do a project together. ha! I haven’t much knowledge on the thing so I will have to read up first.
