You’re probably thinking why share a wreath now? I know, but I haven’t decorated our dining room at all, not one touch of Christmas in there. So I decided to decorate the dining room table at least. For a centerpiece I decided to make a wreath for a candle ring to place in the center of the table.

I just love the wreath I created for the creative craft hop. Roses and hydrangeas together made a great combination for my Christmas wreath. I can’t wait for you to see how it all came together.
Here are the items I used for my wreath.
- 5 red roses
- 5 small hydrangea blooms
- 1 bundle of flocked leaves
- 1 pick of green thistle stems
- 3 different types of greenery picks
- small pinecones
- red berries
- red jingle bells
- ultra fine red glitter from Paradise Glitter
- large Dollar Tree wicker wreath form
I pulled out all of my holiday tubs to gather my items for this wreath. I had every holiday tub out rummaging through them.
- roses were in my Valentine’s tub
- hydrangeas were in my spring flower tub
- all the greenery were in my Christmas tubs
- wicker wreath form was in my Easter tub
To fill the wreath with greenery I first poked the flocked greenery stem into the wreath.
I added the thistle stems next in to the wreath the same way, sticking it into the wreath form.
Filling in all the gaps with evergreen twigs. I hot glued them to the wreath.
Hanging the wreath on my wreath board so I can have a good view of the wreath while finishing the decorations.
To fill in the gaps with more greenery, the picks I used were an evergreen pick and cypress pick. Removing it off the stem and gluing it on the wreath form.
Grabbing my roses to place on the wreath next. I remove the roses from the stem and added them to my wreath.
That’s definitely not the look I want for my wreath. I pulled the roses off the wreath and grabbed my red glitter to add to the tips of the petals.
I am using glitter from Paradise Glitter, in the color Cardinal. If you are a craftaholic like I am you might be interested in taking a look at Paradise Glitter’s website here → PARADISE GLITTER. They have all the variety of glitter you could imagine and so many colors to choose from. I was amazed at all the different colors they have on their site. The glitter I have is their ultrafine glitter. It’s like fairy dust, it gives your craft a more glitzy and elegant look.
I dipped my paint brush into modge podge tapped it on the tip of the petals, sprinkled the glitter on the whole rose, tapped the excess glitter off on a piece of paper.
Look at the difference between the two roses on the wreath.
After I applied the glitter on the roses I added the unused glitter back into the package.
I added all 5 roses back to the wreath. The roses look richer with the glitter, don’t you agree?
I took Dollar Tree hydrangeas gluing them next to each rose.
I would of never thought to add the two flowers together, but they sure look pretty together.
Next, I added some berries to the wreath. I had bits and pieces from left over projects, hot gluing them to the wreath in random places.
I had some pinecones left on the bundle, I cut the pinecones off the stem and hot glued them onto the wreath.
The last item I added to the wreath were Dollar Tree red jingle bells. I hot glued them to the wreath as well.

I think using the Paradise Glitter on the tips of the petals made the roses pop!!
Before making my wreath I made sure to choose the right colors to coordinate with my Christmas plates.
I placed the wreath in the center of the dining room table and placed my glass candle holder in the middle of the wreath.
The charger plates and jingle bells bring a metallic flare to the table, as well as the glitter on the roses.
Putting this table together on the fly turned out to be pretty cute.
A wreath can be used for other purposes than hanging on your front door. I love using mine for candle rings as well. Maybe I can revamp it a little and use it for Valentitne.

Terrie, such a beautiful and festive candle ring! It goes great with the BH&G plates and your lovely table setting. I have a different top plate design and also love to use them for Christmas and woodland tablescapes. I especially like the variety of shades and textures you incorporated into the greenery of the wreath ring; like the thistle. And, what a good idea to add the little bit of glitter to the roses.
Thank you Debbee. Can you believe I found those dishes 5 years ago after Christmas at Walmart for $1.98 a plate…I didn’t get a full set so I ordered the rest to complete the set. Cost me more for 1 plate than the 11 plates together, but so worth the little amount I paid for the set of 12. I saw where they have different salad plates. I love all of the prints.
