DIY SHIRT AND TIE NAPKIN

Happy Tuesday friends!

Well Father’s day is just around the corner (only 5 days to go)!  We are hosting a dinner party Saturday with a few of our friends.  Since it is the day before Father’s Day I am wanting to celebrate and recognize the dads in our group.

Hard part of finding the perfect Father’s Day tablescape is finding a theme that fits all of our dad’s around the table.  They have different hobbies so I am not wanting to do a sport theme.  While searching, I saw this napkin fold that is made into a shirt, it gave me a great idea.  Took this fold and a napkin fold of a tie and combined the two.  What a cute and masculine napkin fold.  Doesn’t it make the cutest conversation piece?

So grab your napkins and start folding with me!  Oh…..before we start you will have to grab your iron and ironing board.  YES….you must use an iron with this fold.  You will truly appreciate the end results!

Let’s get started!

I am using my white linen napkins.

Take your napkin and lay it out flat.  Taking all 4 corners meeting in the middle making 4 triangles.   PRESS!

At the top, fold over one the edge 1/4″.  PRESS!

Take the press fold side and fold in to the middle.  PRESS!

Do the same last two steps to the bottom.  PRESS!

Turn the napkin over.  PRESS!

Fold 1/4″ at one end and PRESS!

Flip the napkin over.  PRESS!

Take both folded corners and fold it diagonally until the tip of the corner meets in the middle.  PRESS!

Working on the bottom now.  At the bottom take the bottom fold center corner and bring it out diagonally.  PRESS!

Do the same above step to the other side.  PRESS!

Now take the bottom of the napkin and fold it up to the top of the collar.  PRESS!

That’s it.  I made 8 of this little cuties!  I gave it one last all over swipe with the iron.  Isn’t it adorable?

I wanted to give it a little more masculinity so I made a little tie to add to it.  I found this on Pinterest.  I used the left over material from my hope chest DIY cushion.

I did a smaller version and added a furniture tack for a tie pin.  Here is my Dress shirt and tie napkin fold.

I will share with you on Friday my Father’s Day tablescape.  Thank you so much for coming by and visiting me!
