How cute is this little Dollar General watermelon truck? I found the little truck in Dollar General for two dollars. I had to give it a simple change to fit the watermelon themed tiered tray.
Hey there! If you are coming over from Rachelle, My Hubbard Home, welcome to Decorate and More with Tip! Didn’t her DIY door décor look amazing? I love a good DIY, I will have to give it a try.

Dollar General Watermelon Truck Makeover
Here is the little truck and the supplies I am using to create my little watermelon truck.
I pulled out 3 shelled walnuts to use, but decided to use three pieces of potpourri instead.
To resemble watermelons, I painted the pieces green with a lime green stripe. Using Apple Barrel craft paint in forest green and lime tree.
Removed the succulent from the bed of the truck in order to hold the watermelons.
The blue truck is adorable just as is, however I painted my truck in a watermelon color. I mixed up Apple Barrel paint, Cardinal Red and Bright Magnet. Painted the truck and created all the details on the truck as was before.
Taking the little watermelons gluing them to the back of the truck.
It turned out adorable and is the right size for a tiered tray. Depending on your tray’s decorations you can modify it for any color or theme.

These are cute and really made me chuckle when I realized you did the watermelons with botanical pods!
This craft will also be great for your summer tier tray.
Rachelle, they did work for a miniature watermelon. ha! I think the little truck will be used a lot through the year with only changing out the bed’s decor. Thank you!
Adorable and perfect idea to use walnuts for watermelons.
Cindy
Thanks Cindy. The walnuts were a little too large for the back of the little truck so I used potpourri pods. They turned out just as cute.
Terrie, I love how you painted the truck, and those little walnut watermelons are brilliant! I have been scoring some great finds at Dollar General lately, too! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
