I have had a lot of questions on how I store all of my throw pillows.  I do have a lot of them!!  Today, I’m finally sharing how I store my throw pillow obsession.  I am sure I am not alone, Tammy over at Patina and Paint is sharing how she stores her obsession as well.  I will have her link at the bottom of my page for you to go see how she stores her throw pillows.

I have no clue on how many throw pillow covers I own, somehow they keep multiplying like rabbits.   I have collected enough pillow inserts, now I purchase pillow covers when ordering online, because they are easier to store.

For years I use to store my pillow covers on a hanger in a spare closet.  It worked pretty well until I started adding more to my collection.  They wouldn’t stay on the hanger clips.  I started to look for a more simpler way to store my pillow covers.  I came across these cloth organizer on Amazon.

Now the organizing and purging begins.  I organized my covers by color and seasons, placing them in their own group, folding and placing them neatly in the organizer.

Here are the steps I took to fold each of my pillow covers:

1. Fold the pillow in half
2. Fold the half in a square
3. Fold the square in half
4. Add it to the organizer

With the window there is no need to label the organizer.

I might later cut a piece of thin board and place inside the closet organizers to make them more sturdy, but for now they work perfectly.

Pillow Insert Storage 

My extra pillow inserts accumulated more than I thought, I even purged a few.  I placed them on one of the shelves with the other shelf holding my throw pillows with permanent covers.

Let me share a few tips when buying throw pillows that might help keep you being overwhelmed with storing a whole pillow.

1.  Whenever possible, buy throw pillow covers without the inserts.  They are easier to store and less expensive.
2. Invest in high quality inserts for your pillow covers when styling your home everyday.
