HOW TO ADD SPRING TO A VINTAGE TRUCK

Hey there!  If you are coming over from Carol at Bluesky at Home, welcome to Decorate and More with Tip!  Carol always has the best ideas for crafts.  I am going to try her clay pot trick, it looks amazing.

It’s time for our monthly Creative Craft time.  I just love sharing great crafts with you!  This month we have 13 bloggers sharing some awesome crafts.  Are you ready to get your crafting skills on?  The craft blog hop is hosted by Chloe, Celebrate and Decorate and Andrea, Design Morsel.  At the bottom of my craft tutorial I will share each participant’s link to their craft.

Are you a vintage truck lover?  To me, I think they are cute, but my momma loves them.  Mr. Tip and I went to a new TjMaxx here by us and I spotted this little truck and thought about her.  Mother’s Day is approaching so I picked it up.  The flowers in the bed of the truck were not very attractive, but that’s an easy fix.  Let me show you what I did with the little white truck I found for my mom!

I removed all the flowers from the back of the truck, I will be replacing them with a couple of bundles of flowers I found at Walmart.  I started with a blank slate I used some faux large lamb’s ear leaves and a few other leaves.

I like starting my arrangement with some sort of base, the leaves hides the space well.

I always start creating an arrangement with the largest flower first.

Using 5 blooms, one in each corner and one in the center.

The second flower I use would be smaller flowers, they are used to fill all the empty spaces.

I like to add a bold color to add interest to any of my arrangements, to this arrangement I added a dark blue stem.

I love the coral and blue together.

The last stem I like to place would be a wispy stem, it adds a fun factor to the arrangement.

To add the finish touch I used a pretty ribbon to compliment the arrangement.  I made a loop bow and placed it to one corner of the truck’s bed.

I hope my momma loves this, I sure do….hmmm I should have picked me up one. 🙂

  1. Terrie, I’ve never seen a white truck before. Your mom will be able to use this all year long! You did a wonderful job decorating the bed of the truck with spring florals. It’s so pretty and festive! It’s always fun to craft with you. Happy Easter!

  2. Terri, this just shouts spring! These little trucks are really cute and add so much to a table or home décor. It’s always fun to hop with you.
    Happy Spring!

  3. Vintage trucks are quite trendy these days and I love that you used a white one which is much more versatile than the red ones we so often see! Love the beautiful flowers you used, too! They add a special spring touch to your lovely decorative effect!

  4. I love the old trucks too, and what a great idea to decorate the back seasonally. I made a red truck out of crates and I decorate the back seasonally as well. What a fantastic easy project that can be kept out all season long, or even all year long! Thanks for sharing and wonderful crafting with you friend.

  5. Such a cute truck and the arrangement you made for it is darling, your mom is going to love it! There’s something about these vintage pick up trucks that makes them hard to resist! I have one that I painted to look like one from MacKenzie-Childs, I must fill it with flowers for Spring, thank you for the inspiration Terrie!

  6. I just love how you customized this Terrie; you Mom is going to love it! We’re vintage truck lovers too, but Hubs restores life sized ones. I shudder to think how many flowers it would take to fill that one – lol!

    1. I could only imagine how many flowers it would take for a life side truck, but wouldn’t that look fantastic? Thank you Sara. Happy Spring.

  7. I’m amazed at how many ways you can decorate with these trucks! Your spring truck turned out so cute. Thanks for being in the hop today. Happy Easter!

    1. I know, I can kick myself for not picking up two of them. I am sure I will be decorating my moms for her so I will get my fix on decorating it. Thanks Andrea for hosting this fun hop.

  8. Adorable Terrie, I’m a vintage truck lover too and I’m sure your mom will be thrilled with your blooming creation! Happy to be hopping with you again!

  9. Your little white truck makes me so happy! I might just have to get one of these! You can use it for so many holidays, not just Christmas, like the red ones! I love how you filled it with bright spring florals! I know it will add a pop of color to your home this springtime! I hope you have a lovely Easter!!
