Hello Friends! How was your weekend? Mine was full of shopping and more shopping! I can finally say I finish my Christmas shopping and I got everything wrapped and under the tree. Feels so good that has been checked off of my to-do list. Are you all done with your shopping?
Before we go into the blog today I just wanted to tell you how happy I have been with you coming by and letting me share all of my Christmas decorating and DIY blogs. As of Friday we will be coming to the end of my 30 Days spending Christmas with Terrie! It seemed like we just started the 30 days. I guess time flies when you are sharing with friends!
Today’s blog is another book DIY. This could be used all throughout the year. I saw this DIY and just knew where in my house I could style it. While I was out shopping I went into our local thrift store (the same one that I got the book for the Book Wreath. If you haven’t see that yet go HERE).
Here is the supplies you need:
A book that has at least 180 pages. I didn’t realize the number until after I purchased my book. I bought a book with 800 pages and the pages are very brittle. As you can see the bits and pieces are all over my area.
Take your book and find the middle page.
Turn the book where the pages can be flipped up.
Work with the center page, take the corners of the page, folding them in until the corners meet together forming a center point.
Working with the pages behind the folded page, skip two pages.
On the third page make another point.
Continue the steps until you get to the end of the book.
Now go back to the middle of the book to your first point. Start with the bottom part of the book. Skip two and fold the third page making and upside point.
Continue doing this pattern until you finish with the last page of the book.
Step two:
Go back to the middle page. The first skipped page fold one corner in half.
Take the other corner and fold to make a point to the page.
The second skipped page fold the opposite corner in half.
Take the other corner and fold to make a point to the page.
You should have three points. Left – Right – Center.
Do this until you get to the last page of the book.
Go back to the middle page. Do the same as the beginning of Step two with the back part of the book. Remember to stay with the point direction.
Do this until you get to the last page of the book.
I will be styling the DIY folded book with this setting on my family room chest. Here is what my Christmas decor looks like before I put the folded book decor in the setting.
What do you think after I placed a red bow and the Folded Book decor on the chest with the deer and trees?
It took me about 45 minutes and $1.50 for one book. I like the new addition to my Christmas setting.
As always follow me on Instagram and Facebook. And jump over on Pinterest and see what all I pin.
Thank you for stopping by and hope you return back here on Wednesday’s blog. Hope you all have a great Monday!
Stay Strong and Stay Blessed!
Terrie
Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
