It’s time for our Pinterest Inspiration Challenge hosted by Cindy, County Road 407.   I will list all of the participant’s links at the bottom of my page.  Our inspiration photo is from Jill, Create Craft Love.  Jill did an amazing job decorating her door with a garden hose.  It is so cute!  Let’s take a look at the garden hose wreath that Jill created.  What all did she use?

  1. garden hose
  2. gardening gloves
  3. flowers and a butterfly
  4. ribbon

Here is my version of the Garden Hose Wreath…..

I had to go into the shed and cut a piece of hose from an old hose.  Honestly, this hose should have been thrown away, but so glad we didn’t.   I brought it in the house and gave it a good scrubbing.

After the hose was cleaned it still looked faded and not very attractive looking.  I decided to spray paint the hose to give it some life.  Before I decided on the color of paint I wanted to check out the ribbon I had on hand to coordinate with the paint.  Once I picked out my ribbon I grabbed the paint and gave it two coats of paint.

To paint the whole thing I hung it on my clothes line.  Me and my concoctions, right? 🙂  I am using the color Blue Ocean.  This is the same paint I used when I spray painted my glass plates on my Christmas tablescape.

Here are the items I pulled together to make my wreath.

  •  garden hose – I used a 12 foot piece of hose
  • gardening gloves
  • gardening scissors
  • floral bundle
  • water can decor piece
  • floral wire
  • ribbon

I wrapped the hose to the size of an 18 inch wreath.  I used floral wire to hold the hose together.

Taking my little watering can I used on our back patio I removed all the greenery from it.  I grabbed a floral bundle I had in a basket in the Master bedroom,  I added back the greenery.

To secure the little watering can to the hose was pretty tricky.  I added floral wire to the handle and tacked a small nail at the bottom and wrapped the wire to the hose and around the nail.  Worked great!

I took the gloves and scissors wrapping floral wire around them as well and connecting them on the garden hose.

I made a regular bow and added it on top of the gloves and scissors.  I added a little hot glue to the ribbon’s tails to the hose to cover up the floral wires.

And that’s it!  I placed it on our front door to welcome Spring.  I think the colors looks so pretty against our door.

I hope you enjoyed this fun Pinterest Challenge Garden Hose Wreath.

  1. Hi Terrie! I came back to relook at your sweet garden hose door decoration and I realized… You have a meadow growing right there on your front door! I love painting the hose idea… <3

    Enjoy spring!
    Barb 🙂

    1. Well thank you so much Barbara. Yes, we use to live across from where cattle gaze but they turned it into corn and bean fields. Pretty in the summer when the crops are full.

    1. Thanks Pamela. It was a fun project and super creative since we really couldn’t go out to shop for supplies. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. I do too Liberty. It was so easy to apply on the door. I found the wording on Amazon. Thank you for your sweet comment. Happy Spring!

  2. What a lucky break that you had an old hose in your shed. You are so clever to think to spray paint it a color to coordinate with your ribbon. Your wreath is pretty and the perfect spring touch for decorating your front door.

    1. yes I wasn’t for sure we still had it. I had to paint it because it was so old, faded and dirty. I am glad it all worked out to use. Thank you so much Paula. Happy Spring!

  3. Love all the different hued greens you incorporated, Terri. Never would have thought about spray painting a hose! I’ve got quite a few laying around; that’s a great idea!

    1. Michelle, I spray paint a lot of items. I used an all surface spray paint. It was so easy and looks great. Infact, my husband asked me if I bought a new hose? ha! Thank you!

    1. I wasn’t for sure if we still had in it the shed. We needed to throw it away but I guess you can say one of us (me or my husband) was a little lazy. This time I am so happy we were. ha! Thank you Cindy.

  4. So cute, Terrie! Love how you painted your garden hose and added all the cute garden tools. <3 Super cute!!! Love the little birdie perched on top.

Enjoy having it on your front door! 🙂

    Happy spring,
    Barb 🙂

    1. Thanks Barbara. The old hose was to nasty to use so painting was the only option. I love how it looks. It painted up well. Thank you for stopping by. I have fun on this challenge.

    1. Thanks Amy! You have to get creative when you can’t get out to buy supplies. I love the challenge and how it pushes us to be creative.

    1. Thanks Christine. Without shopping for supplies I had to get creative. It all worked out better than I thought. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thanks Katie. I wasn’t for sure we had the old hose left in the shed or if we tossed it. So happy we still had it. Spray painting it a color helped give the hose new life. Thanks for your sweet comment. Always love working with you!
