Today on the Under $10 on the 10th, we are sharing how you can create something $10 or under for Thanksgiving. The blog hop is hosted each month by Tammy over at Patina and Paint. At the bottom of my page, I will have all the blogger’s Thanksgiving projects linked for you.
For Thanksgiving our son, Todd will be hosting the family, but later this month I will be hosting some friends for a Friendsgiving dinner. I want to decorate the place setting with something cute for Fall. I googled Fall party favors and found some really cute ideas. The one struck my eye was a favor made into a corn on the cob.
This would be perfect! I gathered the supplies listed down below. To save cost, buy your candy in bulk.
Harvest Candy Filled Party Favor
Supplies
- M&Ms
- Candy Corn Candy
- Dry Roasted Peanuts
- Snack size Baggies
- Green tissue paper
- Raffia
- Tape
- Scissors
- Mix the candies together in a large bowl.
- Fill the candy in a snack size baggie.
I put 1 cup of candy in each bag, which made 10 baggies.
- Cut one sheet of green tissue paper into 4 pieces.
- Cut some raffia to resemble corn husk.
- Tape your piece of raffia in one corner of the tissue paper.
- Lay a candy filled baggie on top of the raffia.
- Wrap one side of the tissue around the baggie and tape.
- Roll the tissue paper on the candy.
- It would be best to have double sided tape, but I didn’t so I rolled tape to secure the ends of the paper.
And that’s it, straighten out the raffia to your liking. Aren’t they cute?
Let’s see how much it cost to make 10 favors.
- M&M – $4.50
- Candy Corn – $2.25
- Dry Roasted Peanuts – $3.00
- Raffia, tissue paper and tape (had on hand)
I need to keep making them. I have 25 to make. 🙂
