It’s the time of the year when I get the most excited about decorating our home. As long as I can remember it has always been my favorite time of the year. Growing up, my parents would take our family to a department store called Famous-Barr. The store would decorate the very top of the store in the most amazing Christmas-themed display ever !! My husband and I would also make it a point to take our two children to Famous-Barr every Christmas season. I just love all the colorful lights, decorated trees and the different themes they display each year.

Back in December 2015 we took a trip to New York City. I was in Christmas Heaven. The best time to be in New York City in my opinion. I had the time of my life.
So….this year I am going to take my fondest memories and create a Christmas-themed in our home. I have my Christmas project board started for each room I will be decorating and I have all of my Christmas decorations down from the attic. I am ready to start creating !!
I think I have enough decorations in those storage tubs to fill the top floor of Famous-Barr. 🙂
I have a list of DIYs to do, some items that will need revamping and items I will need to purchase. I think it would be fun to take you right along with me shopping…How fun will it be to shop together?!
A new item I shared with you last week is my King of Christmas Flocked Collection. If you want to take a look at the items King of Christmas has, I will take you right there by clicking on ⇒ KING OF CHRISTMAS.
You receive 10% off of your purchase by using the code – decorateandmorewithtip
I hope you will join me over the next several weeks as I take you shopping, inspire you with DIYs, revamping outdated Christmas decorations and how I decorate a themed Christmas display in our home.
My theme this 2019 Christmas season…….

Happy Holidays!

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Wow Terrie I love reading this! What wonderful memories and traditions. You sure have a lot of Christmas decorations. I can’t wait to see what you do. Growing up my husband’s family took him to a Christmas store in Pasadena California every year. It had a room filled with themed Christmas trees . The had a room with different Christmas villages displayed. We also took our kids every year. Sadly last year the store closed its doors. He is heartbroken. I need to find a new store for him. Anyway love the blog and your amazing diys!
Jennifer, I can’t wait to get started. I do have a lot and still would love to buy more. Crazy I know.
I missed the store we use to go to myself. We like to travel to Nashville TN and Pigeon Forge TN around the holidays to see all the stores and hotels all dressed up in their Christmas decorations. Maybe somewhere around you would have something like that as well.
Thanks for stopping by my sweet friend. Happy decorating.
