Rolled Page Heart Craft Tutorial
The items you will need:
- book pages
- pencil
- canvas or board (size of your choice)
- hot glue and glue sticks
- paint
- embellishments
First step:
Choose your base, I am using a 11 x 14 canvas I purchased in Wal-Mart, a package of two. I painted my canvas with Serenity Blue chalked paint.
It is best to keep the canvas wet, this will help keep the paint gliding on the canvas.
Set the canvas to the side to dry thoroughly.
Second step
I ripped 10 pages out of my book. Cut each page into 4 pieces.
- Using a pencil, roll the piece on the pencil
- hot glue the end
- slide the pencil from the tube
Third step
Using a heart template, I traced to my painted canvas.
Draw a line down the center of the heart.
Forth step
Taking the 40 tubes, cut the tubes to fill in the heart, use the center line as an edge as well. I attached the tubes to my canvas with hot glue.
To keep the outer part of the heart evenly staggered, I used a piece of cut off tube for a guide.
Cut a curve to the outside edge of the tube on the curve part of the heart.
Last step
Place embellishments to your heart. I used a piece of lace to make a bow and place a button in the center of the bow.
Look how cute this craft is and it was under $10.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Your paper heart turned out great! I love the soft blue color you chose for the background. Paper crafting is still on my “want to craft” list and your heart project has moved it up higher on my list.
Thank you Allyson, it was a lot of fun. Happy crafting my friend.
That is so adorable and so simple, Ill be doing this when the kiddos come visit. They can make presents for their mom.
Love this idea .. Would have never thought of doing this..
Great share 🙂
Teresa !!
What a great idea. Maybe when my little granddaughter comes over this weekend, we will make one for her mommy. Great idea. Thanks Teresa!
Your heart is just the sweetest, Terrie! I LOVE the idea of repurposing book pages and the fact that it’s neutral in color makes it PERFECT! Thank you for sharing a great tutorial!
Hey Christine! Thank you, I hope you are having a great start of 2022.
This turned out so cute Terrie, I did one last year but mine did not turn out as adorable. You really have to study mine to see it is a heart lol. And I love that you added a bow.
I must have missed your heart craft. I bet it turned out great. Thanks Corine, it was a fun project. Happy Monday!
Hi Terrie
This is a great project. Love the idea of the book pages
Thanks Cindy. Hope you are doing well.
This is so cute! I love it. One of the cutest projects I’ve seen for Valentine’s Day so far this year. Great job Terrie. I can’t wait to try this.
Well thanks Tammy, I appreciate your kind word. I didn’t use the traditional colors, going a little out of the ordinary. Well, that’s me! 🙂
