HOW I DO MY DRY BRUSHING PAINTING TECHNIQUE

I have a simple way to give an item the look of weather without sanding.  Just using paint, paint brush and a damp cloth.  Here is how I do my dry brushing technique.

I use a paint, color depends on the look I want.  I have used several colors with this technique.

Let’s get started.

What you need

  • paint
  •  two paint brushes
  • paper towel
  • damp cloth

Adding a little paint to the paint brush and dabbing it off on to the paper towel.

Taking the piece and brushing the paint back and forth with even strokes.

Add more paint and pat dry on the paper towel.  Dabbing brush marks with the tip of the brush on to the painted piece.

With another clean paint brush you will brush lightly over the board to smooth out the marks.

Taking a damp cloth and wiping it all down to the look you want.

That’s it.  Here is what it looks like when I was done.
