I changed the cabinet already, but I am adding finials to the bottom of the cabinet to create a furniture look.
How to add finials to your bathroom cabinet
First step, measuring under the cabinet for the size of finials you need.
I found wooden ball finials in Home Depot, they had a couple styles to choose from. I had to do some trimming to fit the bottom of our cabinet.
- I removed the screws
- Cut to make a shorter finial
- Shaved the back to fit snug against the kick board
I carefully removed the shoe moulding from the kick plate
I applied wood glue to the flat part of the finial and attached it to the kick plate. Using painters’ tape to hold in place.
This simple change only cost $3.97 per finial. Different styles vary in price.

We did this in our old house to our kitchen island. No one knew.
I love the look of the feet, I bet the island looks high end now.
So pretty Terrie and they just elevate that vanity up to another level! Great job, I can’t wait to see it all finished!
I agree Tammy. I can’t believe it will be reveal day Friday. So excited!
