Hello friends!

The title of this post is what my husband claims I do a lot!  He is right most of the time when he says “I change things when I buy them” and today is one of those days!  I purchased this little love sign at The Dollar Tree.  It is 12″ long and 9″ tall.  It is a nice size for $1.00.  I picked this up mostly for the word.  I will be using this for my Valentine’s decor.  It is very cute as is, but I wanted to change the butterflies to hearts.  So with saw in my hand, I did just that, cut those butterflies right off.

 

 

As you can tell two places are cracked.  I was being careful, but the sign is made out of pressed wood.  It broke regardless how gentle I was.  With a little glue and some sanding I don’t think it will be that noticeable.

I used some off white crafting paint and aged it with some light tan paint.  I did a couple coats of the off white paint and one coat of dry brushing with the tan paint.

I had some hearts left over from last year’s Valentine’s project to add.  I didn’t want the glitter look so I painted over the hearts with some Folk Art craft pink paint.

 

 

I tacked them with glue to the Love sign.

I took a picture frame that I wasn’t using and took it apart.  I won’t be using the glass part so I stored the glass for now.

The print part of the picture I applied the scrap paper, I cut to size and tacked it with a little piece of tape to each side. Just enough to keep the paper intact.  I placed it back into the frame.  Secure the metal tabs.

I then took the LOVE sign and applied hot glued to the back and placed it in the center of the frame straight onto the paper.

To restore my frame picture, all I have to do, is take the frame apart, remove the two pieces of tape that holds the scrap paper and Love sign, put the glass back in and put it all back together.

 

 

That’s it.  Here is my little LOVE sign.
