KITCHEN TABLE AND CHAIRS MAKEOVER

Hello friends! Thank you for stopping by and supporting my new journey with blogging. Hope you are having a great week. Today has been like a full blown fall day ( wow, try saying that three times right in a row) I guess since Irma is going through our area it is bringing lots of rain and cooler temps. The cooler weather has really got me thinking about fall.  I will be soon bringing out my fall decorations.  Not much just a touch here and there.

I am finally going to show you the entire kitchen nook after I painted the furniture.  I truly think the new painted furniture brightens up the room and makes the room feel larger.

I will tell you this much, even having the floor protected with plastic, I still had tons of paint splattered all over my floor.  It took me a long time on my hands and knees to scrape and scrub the paint off the floor.  It is all clean and is probably the cleanest that floor has been in a long while.  I decided to paint the furniture inside since the temperature outside was so humid and hot.  It was a huge mess for a couple of weeks. Glad that project is over with and to have my kitchen back in order.

Here is my kitchen before I painted the furniture.

When I decided to paint the table and chairs I knew it would be time consuming, but I just never knew just how much it really was going to be.  Golly!  A lot of detailing on this job.  The chairs!  All those small spindles were a killer.  I am so happy with how the project came out.  Staining the top of the table and the chair seats were the best choice.

Let’s get with the transformation! Here are the photos in the steps I took with the table and chairs.

Getting ready to put the paint remover on the table top.  Taking the finish off.

After removing the finish I sanded with the hand sander to make it smooth.

Table all prepped for staining.  The first two sections with first coat of stain.

The table with two coats of stain.  The next photo is the table has two coats of poly on it and one coat of paint.  If you have not read my steps on painting.  Click here, it will take you to my blog about how I paint.
The table and pedestal finished waiting to be placed back into the kitchen.
The table and pedestal put back together.
Chair stripped and sanded.  Staining the chair. I taped the seat after staining so I can paint the rest of the chair without getting paint on the freshly stained seat.  The back part of the seat was very tedious.
The table and chairs all finished.
You know how I like the Before & After photo shot.  Here you go!

I just love the new kitchen table area.  From the hutch to the wall grouping to the table & chairs.  I want to dress my table a little different that will be another blog.  Got to save a little something for later.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this kitchen painting project.  If you like my blog please share with friends so they can join my journey.  Make sure you like my page and come back to visit with me.  You can follow me on my facebook page, instagram and pinterest.
