I have been eyeing a lighted grapevine pumpkin for awhile now.  I just couldn’t bare paying for the price on the tag.  So I did the next best thing….I made one.  I am sharing the tutorial with you here on my blog and in my Stories, I saved in my highlights.  Both on Facebook and Instagram.

Here are the supplies you will need to make a grapevine pumpkin with me.

• 5 grapevine mini wreaths – 6 inch wreath
• 1 orange eucalyptus leaf pick
• wired jute rope
• wire snips

Take your wreaths and snip the bands that holds the two wreaths together.

Take one of the wreaths and cut it in half with the snips.

The half will be used for the stem of your pumpkin.  To straighten the curve of the twigs spray some water onto the twigs and straighten with your hands.

Taking 4 of your wreaths and placing them in the palm of your hand.

Take the stem we just cut and place it in front of the wreaths.

Take the other 4 wreaths and place them in your hand as well.

Take the wire jute rope wrap it around the inside part of the wreaths.   Tie it around the wreaths tightly twisting to secure the jute wire.

Cut the twine off.

Rotate the wreaths to form a pumpkin shape.  You could leave it like this if you want.

Taking the snips and cut the piece of grapevine that holds the vines together.

I left one piece connected to create a twisty twig.

Fan out the twigs of the wreath.

To create a filled in look, take two wreath’s twigs and intertwine the twigs together.

Keep intertwining the twigs together until you get a full pumpkin look.

Taking a piece of the twine that held the wreaths together, wrapping it around thebottom of the stem.

Taking the battery operated lights placing them inside the pumpkin.

Taking the Fall pick and sticking the stem in the center.  Shaping the pick the way you want it.

Isn’t it cute?  I am placing my grapevine pumpkin on the top of my wine tower in the dining room in a bowl of leaves.  Where would you put yours?
