Hello Friends! Well….it looks like my guest bedroom #3 won the best dressed out of the my Christmas guest bedrooms. Thank you for your sweet…sweet words. You know exactly how to make this girl feel special.
Happy hump day! Can you believe it is the day before Thanksgiving? I wish you the best Thanksgiving ever! I hope you enjoy being with family and friends. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving with our children. I will be making the traditional feast. It is only 5 of us, but I cook like we are going to have an army at my table.
This is going to be a long post. I guess I should have broken it down into two post, but I didn’t.
Today I want to share with you my foyer, dining room and my Christmas tablescape. I hope you enjoy reading and looking at photos of my Christmas decorations.
FOYER
This room is very small. If you are just now joining me you can go HERE to see the tour of my everyday foyer. This room I kept pretty simple. I wanted to stay neutral. I normally hang a garland on the doorway entering my family room, but this year I wasn’t feeling it.
The only space I decorated in the foyer is the table wall.
On the mirror I placed a Christmas wreath that I added picks and a burlap bow to.
On the table I placed two trees made out of bark and pine cones, a brown deer and a sleigh arrangement.
In the corner I placed a 3 foot tree in a basket. I placed the same style picks as the wreath. I sat a few larger pine cones on the edge of the top part of the basket.
On the other side of the table I placed a little berry pick and ribbon to the mercury glass jar.
I am sure after I get the home all finished with my Christmas decorations I will be tweaking this space. I am thinking it needs something!
Here is one more look of my Christmas foyer.
DINING ROOM
The color theme for this room is copper, antique gold and a touch of red wine. I decided on the color theme by the floral pick I found at Wal-mart. I just loved the feather in the pick and thought dining room when I saw the pick.
Maybe next year I will do a feather theme room!
THE TREE
I have a 11 foot pencil tree for this room. With the large furniture I wanted to keep it on the smaller scale.
I found picks at The Dollar Tree. I really didn’t think too much of the picks when I first saw them, but still grabbed up 4 for whatever reason. Didn’t know at the time how pretty they turned out to be on my tree. I went back afterwards and of course the picks were all sold out.
For the ribbon I made bunny ear bows and placed in the tree.
Here is how you make bunny ear bows.
I took about 3 feet of wire ribbon. I made a letter M with the ribbon, making sure the loops are even.
Take the bottom part of the M and pinch them all together. (sorry this photo is blurry)
Take a piece of floral wire and secure the bottom tightly.
After you secure the bow, fluff out the loops.
Fish tail the ends.
I placed the bows all over the tree. After the bows, I placed the picks. I used 11 picks. I added the accent ornaments (copper) and finished up with antique gold ornaments.

THE TABLESCAPE
I will show you from start to finish how I created my tablescape for the Christmas holiday.
Started with a bare table.
Placed my table runner in the center of the table. I purchased this table runner last season from Wal-mart. I love this runner. It has brown faux fur on the end with a red piping trim. It has copper/brown snowflakes on a burlap background. Just so pretty.
The centerpiece is pieces that I had from years past. Started with a wreath I purchased at Kirkland’s Changed out the red flowers for copper and added ornaments. You can start out with a plain Christmas wreath and do the same thing by adding flowers and ornaments.
TIP: (after the photo) The wreath was a bit wide so I squeezed it to make it an oblong shape.
I placed a brown metal deer to the center of the wreath.
I have two copper lanterns. They normally are on my back porch through the summer months. I brought them in, gave them a good cleaning, added a pretty bow and battery operated candle. Add one to each end of the wreath.
I placed round placemat in the color of linen to each place setting.
I took my gold chargers (when I see them at the Dollar Tree I always grab extra) and spray painted with a hammered copper color. I bought the paint at Lowe’s.
While I was making a trip to The Dollar Tree I noticed that they had these white dishes with a copper edge band…..well of course they did, I am just that lucky! Actually they might be gold, but on my chargers they look real close to copper. I placed the dinner and salad plates on the chargers.
THE NAPKINS
I placed two napkins for each place setting on the table. Here is why. I was watching a you-tuber set her tablescape and she used two napkins. She said that people are dressed in their Sunday’s best and she does not want them to place a soiled napkin on their lap. I thought that was a very good point. So now Terrie will be placing two napkins on her table for her guest! Point taking.
The first napkin I placed on the salad plate. I made a Christmas tree. Isn’t it cute?
HERE is the video I watched to learn how to fold this pattern. On the back I did place a straight pin to keep the back flaps together. For the top I used some copper berries I had from another arrangement that I wasn’t going to use this year and placed on tooth picks.
The other napkin I just rolled up a brown linen napkin and place a copper wire napkin ring around it.
I set my crystal stemware with a gold trim at each place setting.
I found these little reindeer tea-lights….OK, so I shop way too much at The Dollar Tree. You just never know what they might have when you go in there.
I didn’t want gold so I spray painted the deer a bronze color.
I placed one at each place setting.
This is showing the wreath an oblong shape.
So what do you think about my tablescape? I think it turned out so pretty.
As always, thank you so very much for stopping by. With Thanksgiving this Thursday, I am going to spend some much needed time with my family so I will be back Monday morning. I hope you will come back and see what I did over the weekend.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
