A lot has happened since the last update over in Kristin’s kitchen. We started several jobs and finished only a couple.
Newest Kitchen Project Updates
Light Fixtures
Two new light fixtures have been installed in the kitchen area.
Over the sink
Mackenzie 10.75″ Wide Pendant with Metal Shade in Brass.
Ceiling light
COTULIN 24 Inch Gold Round LED Flush Mount Ceiling Light.
Kitchen Table Project
The table is stained with a grey stain and the legs are painted grey. We will be refinishing the table to a new stain color.
I applied Citristrip Paint & Varnish Stripper to the table, wrapping it in plastic to keep the stripper from drying out.
After an hour I started removing the old stain, by scraping the stripper with a putty knife.
We still have to do more sanding before we can apply the new color stain. The color is unknown at the moment.
Sink Project
We disconnected the plumbing and removed the old stainless-steel sink to prepare the cabinet for the new farmhouse sink.
In order for the farmhouse sink to sit properly on the cabinet, we cut the front piece of the old countertop and top piece of the cabinet.
The Countertops
To save money, we removed the old countertops ourselves. Mr. Tip is removing all the brackets before we can lift the old countertops off the cabinets.
We took a seat while the countertops and the farmhouse sink were being installed.
The countertops are Quartz called Chantilly.
The Farmhouse Sink
The farmhouse sink was purchased from Home Depot, White Ceramic 32 .25 in. Double Bowl Farmhouse Apron Front Kitchen Sink.
Since the sink is a drop-in sink with a front farmhouse apron, we didn’t have to add a support system under the sink.
Kitchen Faucet
Kristin purchased the kitchen faucet from Wayfare, Elements of Desgin Heritage Double handed Kitchen Faucet with Sprayer.
The sink came with three pre-drilled holes, but the faucet she ordered came with a spray nozzle, we drilled the additional hole with a diamond sink hole drill bit.
This is where we are at, we are very happy with the progress we made. We will finish placing the doors to the bottom cabinets, the table project and working on the dining room area. Until next week’s update!
