The inspiration we are using is from Jenny’s (Refresh Living)Pinterest pin on her beautiful garland. You can go check out her blog post on how she made hers here ⇒ FARMHOUSE INSPIRED VALENTINE’S DAY GARLAND.
If you have been following me you would have seen my Hearts and Pompoms garland back three Valentine’s ago. I have linked it here if you miss my blog tutorial. HEART & POMPOM GARLAND.
I can’t just send you over there to use the one I used back in 2018 !! I decided to revamp the one I made back then and share that with you. How fun… Here is what I am going to do to revamp the garland.
I am going to be using my hearts and pompoms from my garland, white yarn, white paint and some of those extra wooden beads left over from our daughter’s light fixture. I have made several things out of those beads. 🙂
I am going to paint 36 beads white.
Don’t you like my drying concoction? It works, might not look pretty.
While the beads are drying I am going to remove the pompoms and hearts from the string.
Taking new string, beads, pompom and hearts and making a new cute garland. I have 6 hearts, 5 pompoms and 36 beads.
Placing tape around the end of the yarn helps thread the yarn through the bead.
I didn’t cut the end of the yarn from the bolt until I finished stringing all my items.
Here is the pattern I will be threading. 3 white beads, a heart, 3 white beads, a pompom, 3 white beads start all over with the pattern.
To avoid the beads moving I tied a knot in the yarn so they will stay in place. One on each end of the three beads.
I cut the yarn from the bolt when I finished all the items were place nicely on the string.
This is what it looks like.
To make the ends finished I made two tassels with the white yarn and tied it to the ends of my garland.
Now to style it!

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
Oh, my goodness….what a darling garland! Love the colors, but especially the tassel detail on the ends!
Thanks Christy. I love the revamp garland. It’s a wonder what we can do to help our first love look better. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Terrie, I love your interpretation of this month’s garland and how you made your beads!! Really pretty with the sweet hearts, poms and beads together. The drying rack is perfect, too. Happy to be on the PC tour with you. <3
Heartfelt hugs,
Barb 🙂
Thank you Barb. I knew I wanted to join in on the fun challenge but having done the garland in the past was kind of a bummer. So I changed it up to work. I like it better this time.
Wow, Terrie, I can’t believe you already had a lot of the elements for this garland, but you did such a great job redoing it for this challenge! I especially love the addition of the painted beads and tassels. Isn’t it funny what we come up with to get the job done, like the bead drying rack? LOL! It all turned out beautifully. Pinned!
Thanks Crissy. Yes let the imagination roll. 🙂 I did make the garland a couple years ago but so happy I was pushed to revamp it in this challenge. Love the beads in it.
Terrie, great redo on your garland. I love the addition of the painted beads. Very cool drying contraption, too. I really like the pink hearts. It looks really cute on the cabinet.
Thanks Carol. I like beaded garland which you could tell because they are all over my home. ha! Adding them to the Valentine garland added a great touch.
Great makeover for a Valentine garland with pom-poms and beads! Love partying with you, too! Pinned (and, just for kicks and giggles, read the last sentence of your post. I LOL’d because I may have done the same thing before!)
Julie I also love participating with you. Thank you for your good eye. I copied and paste and was going to change and got side tracked. ha….Thank you thank you!
hi terrie, I love the pom poms! I need to go back and read the details! So much fluffy goodness in this garland! love it! What a fun challenge! laura
I did the same as Jenny wrapping. Time consuming but turns out so cute with the pompoms. I want to get a pompom maker that would be so much easier than how I am doing it. It is a fun challenge. Happy ending to January.
I love the addition of the wood balls, Terrie! Now you’ve got me thinking I may add some of those onto my bunting, too;) Always creating and recreating, right!
The best part of sharing inspiration, right? I like the wooden beads with the garland.
I never would have thought to use a “drying concoction” like yours but girl it’s genius! Love how your garland turned out. The colors are perfect and I see your cute mantel up there. It’s so festive. Thank you for joining us this month. I truly appreciate you.
I needed something one time to dry my beads and saw an old cooler we never use. It’s been there for me ever since. ha! Thanks for hosting this fun challenge. Happy Valentines.
Oh this is just the cutest garland. I have to go see your other post because I need to make those hearts!!!
Thanks Laura. The heart wrapping is time consuming but so darn cute. I need to get a pompom maker though. That would be so much easier.
Terrie your garland is just adorable!! I love the addition of the white beads ! I don’t usually decorate much for Valentine’s Day but you’ve inspired me to start!!
Thanks Christine. I haven’t really decorated any spaces in my home for Valentines yet. I am busy making decor pieces for our readers. So fun.
Terrie,
This is the cutest! Love how you changed it up and great tutorial.
Cindy
Thanks Cindy. It is always prettier when you add beads to something. ha! Thanks for stopping by.
The updated version of your garland is so cute! I love the addition of the beads and the tassels that you made for each end. The way that you dried your painted beads is genius!
Thanks Paula. I think the added beads made it look finished. I liked how it looked before, but love how it looks now.
It works so good when drying something that has a top and bottom. The Styrofoam cooler is used for so many of my projects. ha!
