I would love our home to have a cohesive look that flows beautifully from room to room. To be able to achieve the look and stay on a budget, I am doing a room at a time to create the look and feel I want our home to be.
Today, I am starting back at my room refreshes. I will be in the entryway sharing how I created a warm and inviting look to the space.
Our entryway has changed so many times, it’s crazy! I guess one reason is because it is so small I never felt comfortable decorating it. For this refresh, I did a lot of searching for entryways that sparked my interest. After I collected several, I started weeding them out to the ones I just loved looking at.
I will be posting a video of the whole project on my YouTube channel and my Facebook page. It will share the DIYs and styling!
The Entryway Before

First Step: Add color to the walls and closet door
The paint ~ FUNCTIONAL GRAY BY SHERWIN WILLIAMS
Second Step: Add wallpaper
Wallpaper~ NuWallpaper Grey Cayman Peel & Stick Wallpaper, Neutral
Third Step: Painting the front door
I was undecided on the color I wanted the door. I painted 3 patches of paint and kept it there until I made my mind up.
- TRIBUTE BY KILZ – decided against this color, it brought too much blue to the room.
- FUNCTIONAL GRAY BY SHERWIN WILLIAMS – painting the door this color would be too much of the same color.
- CRACK PEPPER BY BEHR – satin sheen – the color I painted the door.
Before I could paint the door, I had to sand and prime the door. I painted 3 coats of the cracked pepper to the door.
Photo below is the door still wet.
I also decided to keep the door trim functional gray.
To both doors I spray painted the hinges with Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze Protective Spray Paint.
Entryway Refresh
This room refresh was quite an easy project for me, painting and wallpaper was the largest part. They transformed my boring entryway into a warm and cozy space. I love the space so much now!
I placed the entryway table back in its place, I hung a new black iron mirror above the table.
The rug was hard to choose for this space because of the pattern of the wallpaper. I didn’t want it to be too busy. I love my decision to go with the diamond print in gray and cream. I found the runner on Bed, Bath and Beyond website.

Simple Decor for the Entryway
Adding a few old and new pieces to help bring the space together in a warm transitional style.
The entryway is finished, and I am loving it! I’m already planning my next room refresh… stay tuned!

Stay strong and God bless! ♥
Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂

You did a fantastic job. Love the wallpaper and rug.
Morning Cindy. So happy to see you here. Thanks. I do love how everything turned out in the entryway. Now I want to do the dining room. 🙂 Never ending, right?
