WITCH’S BROOM TUTORIAL

Last year I purchased a cinnamon broom from Dollar General, when the season was over instead of tossing it, I kept it.  When searching for my old Halloween decorations I found the broom, an idea popped into my head, this would make a cute witch’s broom!  So, I went out to the back yard for a branch to make a handle.

I cut a small branch from one of our Crepe Myrtles.

I sanded it down and smoothed the ends of the branch.

Giving the branch one coat of Waverly Antique Wax and one coat of poly.

To prepare the broom head, I removed the twine that held all the sticks together on the cinnamon broom.

I cut the broom in half with my snips.

Using twine and the whole cinnamon broom to form the broom’s head.

I placed all the cinnamon parts around the branch and wrapped around the twine to hold the twigs around the branch.

Wrapped the twine around the branch several times tying the ends in a knot.

How easy was that?  I made a cute Halloween decorations out of things I had around our home!
