After I pick out the color theme, I like to take a look down the ribbon isles in the stores. So many beautiful ribbons to choose from, where to start????
Today I am going to share a couple steps on how I pair ribbons for my trees, garlands and packages for Christmas.
3 Tips for buying Christmas ribbon
Tip #1 – Wired Ribbon
Wired ribbon is a must when using ribbon for bows, the wired edges make it easier to twist and to hold the shape you want.
Regardless of what shape or style your bow is, a wired ribbon will create the best-looking bow.
Tip #2 Ribbon width
This really is a personal preference. For the most part, I usually use a 2 to 3 inch ribbon for decorating our home, I also use a 4″ ribbon for an accent ribbon or the themed ribbon. Using different width ribbons to your tree or garland adds a lot of interest to your decorations.
Tip #3 Buy different patterned ribbons
When using different patterns together, always stay with the same color scheme in the ribbon, I tend to go with a large, patterned ribbon paired with a smaller pattern. I sometimes throw in a solid ribbon with some texture.
These are simply my tips on picking out ribbon for my Christmas decorations. It is all personal preference on what type of ribbon you like to use, hopefully my tips can help you pick out your ribbon this Christmas season.
