BUDGET FRIENDLY BABY SHOWER

When we decided to throw our daughter, Kristin, and son-in-law, Kaleb, a baby shower for our grandbaby, I knew I wanted to create an event worthy of being featured in their baby’s photobook, blending elegance with budget-friendliness.  In the past week I shared all the decorations I created for the baby shower.  You can take a look at the DIY blog tutorials here → BABY SHOWER DECORATIONS and the video tutorials on my Facebook page (scroll down to each of the post) here → BABY SHOWER DECORATIONS.

TABLES

Before decorating the tables I placed white plastic table covering and a pink table runner for the base.  I made the table runner out of pink wrapping paper I purchased from Dollar Tree.

The wrapping paper worked perfect for a table runner.   With one roll of paper we made three runners.  The paper had grids on the back to help cut a straight line.

TABLE CENTERPIECES

Let me share all the pretty things I placed on the tables! I placed the DIY Leaf Garland in a curvy pattern, to view the tutorial for the leaf garland you can click here → LEAF GARLAND.  The centerpiece vignette I used the DIY candelabra,  pedestal picture frame and the floral arrangement.  I added a Dollar Tree blush votive cup and baby’s breath to the vignette.

I want to share what I placed in the DIY pedestal picture frame.

THE SHOWER FAVORS

We sat out a favor for each of our guest on the tables.  Ready to Pop bag. 🙂  I added a bag of microwave popcorn.

I placed a single pack of popcorn and pink tissue paper inside a gift bag with a little tag I printed out.

DESSERT TABLE

The table took center stage and set the tone for the special day.

I served a great punch recipe one of my sweet followers shared with me.

RECIPE

  • pink lemonade
  • sprite
  • raspberry/strawberry sorbet

To make it cute I added some pink rubber ducks to the bowl.

On the other side of the dessert table I placed envelopes for our guest to add their address to and place in a basket, I placed a picture of Kaylani 4D sonogram inside and a DIY diaper bear (which to a lot of us looks like a pig), whichever it is still adorable.

The diaper pig was a lot of fun to make.  Here is the tutorial I followed.  DIAPER SHAPE TUTORIAL.

I made a little frame sign to ask the guest to help the parent’s to be.

The dessert table’s back drop I used my DIY paper peonies.  Trying to figure out a way to display them on the wall without damaging the wall or from falling off the wall  I decided to make a back board to glue the flowers and Kehlani’s name to it.

To view the tutorial on how I made the peonies you can go here → PEONIES TUTORIAL.

To make the back board I purchased two foam boards from the Dollar Tree.  I used white duct tape to attach the two boards together and added Dollar Tree contact paper to the front.

I placed a print out of Kehlani’s name from a piece of poster board I spray painted gold.

I hot glued the flowers onto the board.

My sister-in-law made the cake and cupcakes for the shower.  She is one special lady.  Not only was the cake beautiful but was delicious!

Do you see my cute little Dollar Tree cake stands?  I just love how they turned out.  I added little rice crispies treat dipped in pink chocolate.

I was so busy right before the shower I forgot to snap photos before our guest arrived.  I missed giving you the complete overall look.

The baby shower was a huge success thanks to all of my help setting the shower up, help cooking all the food and cleaning up afterwards.  I have the best family and friends EVER!! 🙂
