SANTA’S HOT CHOCOLATE BAR

Cocoa with Santa??  Traditionally, Christmas morning we like to have a cup of cocoa in our hands when we get ready to see what Santa has brought us. 🙂  I have an easy set up for our special morning with hot cocoa and marshmallows.   It isn’t a full hot cocoa bar, but it is perfect for our little family…Which is growing, our baby girl is going to have a baby girl of her own. How exciting we are over here at the Tipler household!

Today, I am joining 14 of my friends who are sharing some hot cocoa (chocolate) bar inspiration. It’s time for our Pinterest Inspiration Challenge hosted by Cindy, County Road 409. If you are coming over from Leslea, A Heart Filled Home, Welcome to Decorate & More with Tip. I just love the Santa mugs Leslea uses. She gave us so much inspiration didn’t she?

Our inspirational pin came from Jessica, Pen + Paper Flowers.  She shared a great way to set up a cocoa bar.  You will have to go check out Jessica’s cocoa bar it’s amazing.  Here is a snapshot of her bar.

Let me share with you my little corner of our kitchen counter top where I set up my little cocoa bar for Christmas morning.

Unlike Jessica, I don’t have a large space above my cocoa bar area.  You always wished you had something you don’t have…well, I wish I could add a cute cocoa bar sign to the backsplash, but with the outlet/switch combo I can’t.  🙁  Using the DIY mini ladder I can add a little décor against the wall.  If you missed my DIY blog on how I made the mini ladder you can go to the tutorial here ⇒ DIY MINI LADDER.

Since I am decorating my Christmas kitchen in red and aqua the towels I am using works perfectly for the back drop.

To hold the main ingrediencies for hot cocoa, I am using a white mini tray plate.

A little cup holding red straws, mostly for color.  My daughter drinks her cocoa and coffee with a straw she will have pretty ones come Christmas morning.

I had two glass Christmas tree jars I thought what perfect containers to hold the hot chocolate mix and the marshmellows.  I tied a little ribbon to both trees.

I placed both on the tray in front of the straws. In case someone wants white chocolate, I have a couple Keurig cups placed in a bowl.

I place a few mugs on my double tier tray, but we use larger Christmas mugs Christmas morning.

Since our Keruig is in the area I placed a cow creamer with a little ribbon around it’s neck.  I thought it looked cute there.

Let me show you what I placed on my tier tray.

I found the cute little snow man at Dollar General.  It’s a fun little addition to the tray.  I placed a little chunk of wood I painted red and wrote the little saying on it.  I added one mug with some candy canes inside.

On the bottom tray I placed a couple more mugs with greenery tucked inside, votive battery operated candle, gingerbread man and my DIY Dollar Tree sign.  If you missed the tutorial you can go review here ⇒ DIY CHRISTMAS SIGN.

Like I said, we do the basic hot chocolate on Christmas morning.  Occasionally, I might have a cup during the weekend to start my morning while sitting admiring my Christmas home.  This hot cocoa bar is perfect for our holiday season.  I will have some hot cinnamon rolls waiting for us as well Christmas morning.
