It’s time to do a Christmas Dollar Tree DIY, don’t you think?  You only need one item from the Dollar Tree and a few other items you might have at home.

Here is what you need:

  • Dollar Tree small sign
  • 1 sheet of photo copy paper
  • sign design
  • printer
  • mod podge
  • paint (optional)
  • hot glue
  • scissors

I used photo paper to print off my design.  You could use regular copy paper as well.  I googled a saying I wanted my sign to read and printed it out.  Here is the one I found.  I searched “kingle signs” this one was one that popped up.

I took my Dollar Tree sign and carefully removed the back off the frame.  This is the sign I am using from the Dollar Tree.

It wasn’t that difficult.  Be gentle you will be putting it all back together when we get done.

Center the back of your frame on your printout and draw around the back and cut it out.

Remove all the front picture from the front of the backing.  I am using Mod Podge to glue the printed off design to the back.

Sit that to the side and let dry.  I am painting my frame with Waverly Truffle chalk paint.  One coat.

I sanded down the lip where the back will be place back to remove any left over glue and paper.

Taking my hot glue and applying glue to the lip of the frame.

Placed the backing onto the frame.  That’s it.  How cute!

  1. I love this idea! Such a cute sign. I have a few old frames that I can apply this technique to. Thank you for sharing!
