DOLLAR TREE BEADED VASE

Hey there!  Welcome to Decorate and More with Tip!  Here on my blog I share tips on how you can decorate your home on a budget by creating it from scratch, revamping, re-purposing or giving it a makeover with easy tutorials.  I hope I inspire you to create something beautiful for your home. 🙂

It’s  time for another Pin Challenge!  This challenge is a lot of fun and gives us a chance to make something we see in our Pinterest feed.  The purpose of the Pinterest Challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen!  The pin I am sharing this month looked like a lot of fun to make, plus I had all the supplies on hand so why not?   Justin Wray made a vase out of Mardi Gras beads and a glass vase.  Click here to see his pin. → DIY BEADED GLASS.  Below is my version of his beaded glass.

DOLLAR TREE BEADED VASE TUTORIAL

Items I used were:

  • small glass vase
  • 9 beaded necklaces
  • hot glue and glue sticks
  • blue, white and gold paint

Before I started I cleaned my vase and plugged in my glue gun.  I cut each necklace to make a long strand, starting at the top of my vase I glued the strand around the vase.  Once I got to the beginning I cut my beads and started a new row.  I kept doing the same step until I got to the bottom of my vase.

When finished, I took the leftover beads and filled in the gaps.

To remove all the glue webs I found using a lighter will melt away the webs.  Making sure not to hold it on one area too long.

I painted my vase in three colors.  Blue, white and gold.  First I spray painted the entire vase with Rust-Oleum Brilliant Blue.

Once the paint dried I taped off a section to paint white.

After the white paint dried I painted the bottom of the vase metallic gold.

I tucked some greenery in my vase.  It looks so cute!
