I’m so excited this day has finally arrived!  We are starting our blogging Christmas season with you.  I am joining up again with Tammy Patina and Paint, Corine Junk to Gems and Teresa Through a Vintage Door as we decorate our homes for Christmas.  I will have their links down at the bottom of my page for you.

We always like to kick off any season styling our kitchen countertops and ending the series with a full home tour.  So, today we will be sharing our kitchen countertops.  I am sharing how I style our kitchen countertops in a video, which you can watch on my Facebook page or YouTube Channel.  Here on my blog, I am sharing how I styled my corner cabinet and above it.

Here is the space I will be decorating.

Starting at the very top of the cabinet, I have the crown molding to intend with, so most of my items will have to be raised up.  I will be using bowls, wood pieces, books and an easel for risers.

Here are the items I will be decorating with.

Christmas Decorations Above a Corner Cabinet

Adding the focal piece to the cabinet.  I added a book to sit the easel on to raise the sign above the crown molding of the cabinet.

Place the sign on the easel in the center of the cabinet.

To hide the bottom of the easel I place a piece of Christmas garland sitting it on the cabinet.

Using Dollar Tree picks to create a fuller garland.

I stuck the picks into the garland.

Here is how it turned out.

To each side of the sign, I added Christmas vignettes.  First, I added two Christmas trees and a thrift store Christmas village.

To raise the village, I used clear bowls.  Worked great.

To the other side, I added a Christmas sleigh and Santa.

Using boards and a small glass riser.

Adding some fairy lights to finish the look.

Christmas Corner Cabinet Styling

My corner cabinet has adjustable shelves.  It actually has two glass shelves, but I use only use one creating a two-shelf cabinet.

Top Shelf

I used a candy cane tray as the focal piece.  It gives the shelf a pop of color.

I used a variety of older neutral Christmas decorations to tone down the bright colors in the candy cane tray.

Bottom Shelf

I added a Dollar Tree Christmas pick to a vase of faux grass to give it a Christmas vibe.

I first placed the sign with greenery in back, in front of the sign.  I placed a little red Christmas vehicle and two small white painted houses to finish the look.

Decorating this cabinet for Christmas brought me joy.  I love how cute it turned out.

I am so happy my kitchen corner cabinet and countertops are decorated for Christmas.  I hope you were inspired by something I shared with you today.  I will be bringing you more each day!

Make sure you go over and take a tour of Tammy’s kitchen countertops.

  1. I think that idea of using clear bowls to raise things up is great – we have an entertainment center in the living room that is fairly tall, and I always struggle with items getting visually lost on the top of it. I really like the idea of wrapping garland around whatever is being used as a riser also…..what an effective and relatively inexpensive tip. The Dollar Tree is becoming one of my favorite places to look for decor……

    1. I have used so many different things for risers it’s not funny. 🙂 The clear bowls are perfect because you can see right through them if they were to show. I even use them on my mantel. Works like a charm. Thanks Lynne for coming by.

  2. Terrie your kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. I love how you added decor to the top of your corner cabinet. Genius! Pining so that I can do the same next year. So many pretty things to look at….. Iove each and everyone of them. Can’t wait to see what you have up for tomorrow!!!

    1. In years past I would decorate the top of all of my cabinets and stopped doing it, this year it was so much fun decorating just the little part I did. Thanks Tammy I appreciate your kind words and visits. Thanks for pinning!
