GARDEN PARTY BEVERAGE CHALLENGE

Hello everyone!

Today’s blog is not a normal blog from me.  This is a fun little challenge that I was invited to join on Instagram.  If you are on Instagram you can go check the challenge out by going to my page.  Look for my drink post and click on it.   HERE will take you to my Instagram page.

Here is a little information regarding the Garden Party Beverage Challenge.  We had to make a beverage using fresh herbs, fruits, or veggies.  At first I am thinking….what can I make….coming from a girl that only drinks Diet Pepsi? 🙂  Hmmmm, I decided to make an orange dreamsicle smoothie.

I had the drink, I needed to figure out how to stage my drink. I wasn’t for sure exactly what colors to make my drink pop and inspiring.  I called my sweet friend that is very talented I might add, Maureen.  She is the one that painted my country flower print.

As you can tell I am not fibbing when I say she is very talented.  We had so much fun coming up with a back drop and things to go with my drink.  I only called her to ask what colors I should play with staging my drink, but she was a doll she painted me a back drop.  Look at this!

Isn’t it just beautiful?  Now that I had my back drop I just needed to go find my props.  I headed to the Dollar Tree.  I purchased sand, rocks, sunglasses, beverage umbrellas, party decor fishing net and a glass to put my drink in.

I used Maureen’s beautiful sunset print as my back drop.  Using a tray for the base and one of my log risers I started staging my drink.  This is “behind” my staging!  Pretty, huh? 🙂

Making my drink was pretty easy since there are only 5 ingredients.  Keeping it from melting while I took my photos was a whole different story.  🙁

Ingredients:

  • 1 large peeled orange – cut in large chunks
  • 1 peeled banana – cut in large chunks
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup of ice

I placed it all in my little blender along with 1 cup of ice.

Blend it well.

I poured my drink in the pretty little stemware, added some whip topping, sprinkles, some garnishes and a straw.

Remember….I was taking it outside.  94° outside.  Not very smart Terrie….but I was thinking lighting.

Here are my posts on Instagram for those that do not have an account.

What do you think?  This was a lot of fun working with a group of Instagram friends and my sweet-sweet friend Maureen.  Her print stold the show!
