I have been wanting to try Country Chic paint for a while, but never took the time to order it for myself.  Lo and behold, Kristin must have read my mind because when opening my Mother’s Day gift, I found these paints inside.  So, I am going to share how it rates with me.  If you know me, you know I love to paint to freshen up decor in our home.

The item I will be working on today is my Kirkland’s Arch Wall Mirror.  When I purchased the mirror, it was a distressed cream.  Since then, I painted it a dark brown.

I saw a two-tone mirror and thought I can create the same with mine, so I will use the Country Chic vanilla frosting (off white) for the grilles and the canape (brown) to refresh the outer frame.

First, I cleaned and sanded the mirror’s frame lightly.  I don’t tape my work area off, if you do, this would be the time to do the task.

The first coat glided with ease and gave a good first coat covering.

To paint each side of the grilles, I kept turning the mirror standing it upright and then on its sides.

It would have been nice to remove the mirror from the frame, but this mirror didn’t come apart.  I used a small paint brush and carefully painted the sides of the grilles.

I freshened up the brown with the Country Chic canape (brown).

After it was painted, I applied one coat of Minwax finishing wax.

Cleaned the mirror and placed it back up on the wall.

I do love the coverage, I only had to give the grilles two coats of the off white, which is super since I was painting over a dark brown.  I really do like the paint and will be excited to use it again, oh and you know I will soon!!
