I’m not sure how you will react to my blog post today. The girls and I are starting our Fall decorating, first room is the kitchen. So, welcome to our Fall Season 2023 | Decorate with Us. I will have the other girl’s links at the bottom of my page.
I want to be completely honest with you, I am having a hard time getting started with the Fall decorating. I just didn’t know how I wanted to decorate the kitchen, let alone the rest of our home. So, when it came to decorating the hutch, I was stumped. I removed everything off the hutch cleaned it and then stared at it for the longest time.
I needed a piece to give me the theme of the hutch. I looked at all of my Fall frames and decided to use the frame I purchased in Kirkland’s a couple years ago.
There it is, my motivation, I just needed one piece to get me rolling. I placed the large vase back in its place because it was a good fit color and size wise. I began placing things with color, texture and theme throughout the top shelf.
Along with the vase I added two pumpkins, a DIY terracotta pumpkin I painted last year and a buffalo check cloth pumpkin I purchased from Kirkland’s a couple of years ago. I also placed a fall pick next to the buffalo check pumpkin.
To the other side I brought in the color orange in a neutral vase with ribbon tied around the neck. I used 6 bundles of Dollar Tree Bittersweet Orange bushes.
I added two of my brass candlesticks with Flameless Flickering Taper Candles for a touch of elegance.
On the middle shelf, I placed back the two wooden bowls, changed the dish towel and tucked a pumpkin inside.
To the side I placed a Fall foliage potted fake plant and a harvest jar candle.
To the other side, I added two signs, pumpkin sign was from Kirkland’s last year and the blessed buffalo check wooden sign from Hobby Lobby years ago.
To finish the middle shelf, I placed 4 stacked small orange plates I purchased last year in Hobby Lobby. On top of the plates, I sat a potpourri holder with pinecones and a few Fall stems.
That completes the middle shelf.
The last part of my hutch would be the top of the cabinet. As you might expect, I kept my tray on the cabinet. It’s a staple piece on my hutch no matter what season I decorate for.
I found my tray in Tj Maxx but I did find a similar one on Amazon. (Amazon Tray) I normally fold three coordinating dish towels inside the tray, to add color mostly and the beads for texture. I also like using a cutting board for a wood tone backdrop.
This Fall I added a DIY mini leaf wreath and a wooden pumpkin sign I found in Dollar General last year.
To the other side I placed another stack of Hobby Lobby small plates topped with a small creamer, I tucked in a Fall pick. Placing my Blessed container back in place.
I am calling my hutch decorated for Fall!! What do y’all think about it??? I kicked myself in gear and excited to start the other part of the kitchen now. I hope this gave you a little inspiration to add in some Fall decor to your home!
