Hello! Welcome back to another Thrift Store Challenge! This month I have teamed up with 5 other thrifters, Tara, Emily, Cecilia, Debby and Morgan I will post the links to their blogs at the end of my page. The rules were simple–take your item(s) from a thrift store and transform them into a cozy and warm home decor. Using only thrift store items. There was no budget on this challenge just make it budget friendly, so we let our creative juices flow!

Searching for my Thrift store item was a huge success for me. I lucked out on this shopping day. When I turned the corner and saw this little guy sitting on the floor, I started running to grab this up. It cost me only $5.00.
Let me show you how I gave this little guy a makeover.

I gave him a good cleaning and a light sanding. I am taking Walnut stain and staining the tool box inside and out.
I used a sponge brush to apply the stain in sections.
Using a clean cloth to wipe the stain off.
All stained and ready for the next step.
He looks good stained but I am going to give him a white top coat. Using Waverly White Chalk Paint.
Taking sand paper and distressing him.
Styling him was the fun part! 🙂
I am so happy he was waiting for me at the Thrift Store. Not often would you find a tool box like what I found, so I linked a tutorial for you to make one for yourself or if you want to purchase one I linked a site where you can buy one similar to mine.
If you want to make one:
WOODEN TOOLBOX FOR A BEGINNER!
To buy one similar.
Here is another way I styled mine, I placed him on a chair in our Master Bedroom.

Decorating our home on a budget is my thrill. I think a home can look beautiful without breaking the bank. Your home should bring the best out of you and make you feel happy. You should smile every time you enter your home. 🙂
What a great find! You made the box look so pretty! It turned out to be a great decor piece! I like how you displayed it with the greenery, the polka dot bow, and that cute little candle! Wink, wink! 🙂
Yes girl I love my candles!! I lucked out when I found the tool box at the thrift store. I always love seeing other’s styling theirs so I am so excited about having one for my own and to pay $5.00 on top. Sweet! Thank you for being here Maria!
