WHY I LOVE MY NEUTRAL BACKDROP

Hey y’all!  Welcome back!  Yesterday I shared my Rustic winter home decor and today I want to share with you why I like to keep my main home decor neutral.   The last year or two I find myself going toward neutral colors, why?   Mostly because it is easy to accessorize and easy to change-up seasonally.   You know by now, this girl likes to change things up! 🙂

Today I am taking you into our Master Bedroom to share with you the reason why I keep to neutrals.  I remember when I would shop for bedding, I wanted it to all match even to the curtains.  Changing things got very expensive.  You just couldn’t switch out your bedding with out changing your drapes or vice versa.

Let me show you what I am talking about, here is our bedroom 3 years ago.

Changing our bedroom back then was changing around the comforter’s placement, I couldn’t change one piece without changing everything.  Like I said it can be very expensive.

I have learned to stay with my main items in a neutral color.

My bedding is a Hotel Stitch Devet with a taupe pattern stitch, so easy to throw in the washer when I need to clean it.  I just wash, dry and iron.  Like the bedding I chose white sheers for the windows.

I will have links of the items or similar items I used.  Just click on the picture under “SHOP THE LOOK“.

I thought it would be fun to share with you how easy it is to change my bedroom with a few different accessories now that I have a neutral backdrop.

Keep it Neutral

This is how our bedroom stays most of the year.  I like the clean crisp look of our room.  Having white bedding can make some people cringe because the task of keeping it crisp and bright.  I have to say with white you have to be careful, but even dark colors will show wear.  Since it is a devet it is easy to clean.  I remove the comforter from the devet, wash the devet on a gentle cycle, press, insert the comforter and place on my bed.  I like to wash my devet twice a year.

All I changed was the quilt and a few of the accessories! The reason I am sharing this with you today, I hope to inspired you on your next home decor purchase for your home, think about purchasing a neutral item so you too can add any color or style for a budget friendly change.
