Happy Wednesday!  Today for the One Room at a Time | Master Bedroom Refresh, we are going to decorate!!  Using the things we shared yesterday in our haul plus more, let’s get the bedroom furniture and walls decorated before we put the finishing touches in the room.  Corine Junk to Gems, Teresa Through a Vintage Door and Tammy Patina and Paint will be sharing how they are decorating as well, I will have their links below at the bottom of my page here.

For all the sources and links to what I am using today you can find in my previous Home Decor Haul.

Bedroom Furniture Inspiration

Start with a clean slate

I like to clean all the furniture while nothing is sitting on it.  While waiting for the room to be finished I have to make the bed, so the old bedding is still on our bed. 🙂

Night Table Refresh

I loved how the two end tables turned out with the Dixie Belle glaze.  It was so easy to work with once I realized not to make it better!  Once glaze starts to dry, you cannot go over it again.  I love the contrast of the two colors of furniture.

How I stained the furniture:

  • used a chip brush and a small amount of glaze on the brush
  • work in small sections at a time
  • sweep my brush back and forth until I get the look I want
  • do one more stroke to keep my brush marks even
  • after it dried thoroughly, added Minwax finishing wax
  • buff the wax in with a soft cloth

Night Table Styling

I loved how the night tables were styled before, so I will bring everything back how it was before.

Dresser Decor

I just love how my DIY CUTTING BOARD looks for the base to house all of the decor.

Here is how I styled the cutting board trey.

Going from left to right, adding back my smaller ginger jar with greenery tucked inside.

Next to the ginger jar I added a Kirkland’s terracotta vase with black wooden pray beads draping out of the top.

In the center of the trey, I added the Hobby Lobby bowl riser with the Tj Maxx blue candle sitting in it.

Adding a little ambience to the setting, I placed the two Kirkland’s candle sticks with TAPERED BATTERY-OPERATED CANDLES.

To add some drama to the setting I placed two black accent pieces.  Candle snuffer and wick trimmer.

It has texture, a pop of blue and some drama.  The wood tones play well together, which I love.

Chest of Drawers Decor

I am keeping the DIY WALL FRAME and the vase with faux grass.  I am adding a basket tray and wooden beads along with changing the black candlesticks to gold.

TV Cabinet Styling

Keeping the wooden wall decor up as before but changing a few things and painting the others.

I changed the colors of my decor boxes to blue with gold accents.

Painted the bowl to a metallic antique gold color, I turned it upside down and placed a vase with greenery on top of it.

I used one thrift store candlestick and a blue vase sitting on a stool to finish the look.

Blanket Ladder Styling

Keeping my DIY ANGLE BLANKET LADDER as it was.  If it’s not broken don’t fix it, right?

Wall Shelf Styling

Adding the shelf to the wall provides a couple things, a place to hang items off the floor or jackets plus gives another place to decorate. 🙂

To the top of the shelf, I added three gold wire lanterns.  I made little flower wreaths to place inside around the votive cups.

Here is how I made the wreaths.

  • used two stems, cutting off the flowering stems from the bundle
  • using a piece of the larger stem, forming it into a small wreath
  • wrapping the flowering stems around the wreath, tightly
  • add it inside the lantern

I added the other three flower stems inside my tobacco pocket basket and hung it on one of the hooks.

Well, that’s it my friend, I have decorated all of the furniture with you today.  I hope I gave you some inspiration to decorate yours.
