MY THRIFT STORE PUMPKIN

I found a pumpkin canister while shopping at a Goodwill store last weekend.  I have seen these canisters at Walmart, never picked one up but thought about it a couple times.  When I saw it on the Goodwill’s shelf I didn’t hesitate picking it up.

I am going to paint the inside of the canister.  Very easy to do.  Just add the paint and swirl it around.  That’s about it.

Here are the supplies I am using.

  • pumpkin canister
  • 4 colors of craft paint – orange, dark orange, metallic gold and white

I applied all 4 colors of paint inside the pumpkin.  I used a generous amount.

I stirred the paint a little to mix it up.

I swirled the paint to cover the entire inside of the pumpkin and placed it upside down on a paper plate to drain.  I did the inside of the lid the same way.

I let it sit upside down for over 2 hours.  I then turned them right side up and cleaned the outside of the pieces.  Letting them sit over night.

The last thing I did was I placed battery operated fairy lights inside.  I love those Dollar Tree lights.  I have several and probably buy a couple more this Christmas season.

A very warm and cozy look, don’t you think?
