Welcome back to One Room at a Time | Master Bedroom Refresh, today is all about the decor we will be placing in the Master bedroom. Not only am I sharing what I will be placing in the room, but Corine Junk to Gems, Teresa Through a Vintage Door and Tammy Patina and Paint will be sharing their decor haul as well. I will have their links below at the bottom of my page here.
BEDROOM DECOR HAUL
Let’s start with the item I made for the room. Just last week I made a cutting board out of scrap wood to place in our Master bedroom. I love the size and look of the board, I will be using it for a trey in the bedroom.
If you missed this tutorial, you could see it here CUTTING BOARD DIY.
Next, will be the items I revamped to place in the room.
I gave my two ginger jars a new look with joint compound and paint. Here’s how they looked before the transformation.
I applied joint compound all over the jars, let dry thoroughly, light sanding and painted with several layers of paints and baking soda.
How they look now!
I changed up my string art frames by removing the back of the frame. The string art is sitting in between two glass panels, so the back was just to provide color. The wall will be the backdrop of the frames now and I like how it looks.
Another change to the shelf I shared a couple weeks ago.
If you missed the blog post of my prior change, you could see the full tutorial FRENCH COUNTRY WALL SHELF.
I removed the wooden decor emblem off, filled with wood filler, cut down the back board shorter, sanded it down, painted and added 3 brass hooks.
Still keeping the paint brush out, I painted my two wooden boxes blue with gold accents.
After I revamped some items, I still needed a few things to decorate with, so I went shopping. Here is what I found.
Kirkland’s Finds
I found an abstract canvas frame on the clearance shelf in Kirkland’s with an additional 70% off. It was three different shades of green (in this photo it doesn’t look green, but it was) the price was too good to pass up, so I took some paint in the color palette for the room and added the paint right to the green designs. Using a sealer to make it permanent.
The other items I purchased in Kirkland’s was two gold iron candle sticks and an Earthenware vase.
Tj Maxx Find
I was pretty disappointed on my shopping time here, I couldn’t find one thing I was looking for in Tj Maxx, I did pick up a candle I found on clearance. I think it will be a pretty accent piece for the room.
Hobby Lobby Finds
Another disappointment, I did end up finding a cute little wooden bowl riser, 6 bluish purple stems and a can of gold spray paint that I couldn’t find in either Lowe’s or Home Depot.
After shopping all day and finding nearly nothing I came home and shopped my go-to store…. Amazon!
Amazon Finds
- 2 sets of Hosely gold votive lanterns – 7 inches tall with a glass votive in the center of the lantern.
2. Battery operated votive candles with remote. Package of 6 candles by LULUBRO.
3. Ceramic bowl with knots – it is 6.5 inches tall.
4. DECRAFTS round wicker basket – 11 inches diameter.
5. Sinen Candle Wick Trimmer – in matt black.
6. RYB HOME white linen drapes – 52″ x 90″
7. Dixie Belle Van Dyke Brown Glaze – to give the nightstands and hope chest a new look.
This concludes my home decor haul for the Master bedroom’s refresh. I hope you enjoyed viewing what I purchased, made or revamped. Thank you so much for stopping by and joining me in the One Room at a Time! Come back tomorrow when I share how I styled all my great pieces!
