One Room at a Time | Master Bedroom Refresh
All of our hard work has been completed, the mess has been cleaned, the tools are put away and all the decorations are in place. It’s time for us to bring you in our bedrooms to give you a tour of how the rooms turned out. Corine Junk to Gems, Teresa Through a Vintage Door and Tammy Patina and Paint are giving you a tour of their master bedrooms too, I will have their links below at the bottom of my page here.
Although I loved how our Master bedroom looked before, I noticed it didn’t have the warmth and coziness I wanted. I hate to say this, but it has too much blue, as you can see in the photo below.
I found out a long time ago, things aren’t perfect the first go-a-round, it takes time to get your home to feel warm and cozy. I’m still learning!
How to create a warm and cozy bedroom
Accent wall
Once I found the anchor piece for the room, I started planning what I want to do with the room. Adding the board and batten grid wall with the dark color gave the wall some texture and warmth to the room.
Add curtains
To make the room feel cozier I added linen sheer curtains, plus they act like a border to highlight the grid accent wall.
Decorate with wood tones and metal
Another way I added warmth to the room was layering different wood tones with metals.
As you can see, I like to decorate with different styles. I have no idea what my decor style is, but my theory is, decorate with what you like and create your own style!
Add layers
As I have always said… adding layers to the bed will create a cozy feeling itself.
