PLAIN CHRISTMAS WREATH NO MORE

I am taking things I already have on hand to make my front door Christmas wreath.  First thing I always look for when making a wreath is the base, the best base for a full and easy wreath would be a plain pine wreath.

No matter if your plain wreath is only used for a base, it still needs to be fluffed.  You need to be able to add pretty stems, picks and ribbon to the wreath without fighting to find stems to twist around them!

When building your wreath you want to place the largest item on your wreath first.  I am using a Christmas ski wall plaque I picked up one year in Hobby Lobby.  I removed the bow in order to fit a new one I will be making for this year’s wreath.

Using Dollar Tree Christmas twisty tie to secure my plaque onto my wreath.  These are great to use because it blends in with all the greenery.

I secured the top, middle and bottom of the plaque to the wire frame of the wreath.

Placing the ski plaque to the bottom quarter part of the wreath.

Since the greenery on the plaque is frosted and the plain wreath is totally green, I am using pieces of an old berry garland with flocked greenery to blend the two pieces together.

Cutting pieces off of the garland and placing it on the green wreath.

It still needs a touch of white, I am adding three Dollar Tree snowflakes in between the berry picks.

The last thing I want to add is a pretty bow.  I am using two red and white ribbon.  I think the two patterns look so cute together and will make a pretty bow.  I am using my DIY BOW BOARD since I still can’t make a loop bow.  Red and White check ribbon and Merry Christmas ribbon

Taking the bow and placing it in the center of the ski plaque.

Every year, I look at all what I created and am proud of myself that I took the effort to make our home festive and inviting.  I hope you take a little of my inspiration and create in your home as well!

    1. Thanks Tammy. I gathered things I didn’t use this year to figure out what I wanted to do. Like both ideas for the door, the ski plaque and a wreath, so I said why not put them together. 🙂
